Kristen Stewart & Jon Stewart Surprisingly Awkward Considering Identical Surnames!

| Filed under: Jon StewartTV NewsFilm FlickersTwilightRobert PattinsonKristen Stewart

We wonder why it's been so difficult for K-Stew to promote On the Road

Jon Stewart twi-hard tried hard to engage the Twilight girlie in thought-provoking or entertaining conversation, but it was like trying to squeeze orange juice from a turnip!!

Ch-ch-check out the totes awks interactions (above)!

Kristen Stewart's attention seems elsewhere, lately.

Fallout from the Rupert Sanders cheating scandal? Sadness because The Twilight Saga ended?

Whatever it is, girlie, we hope you get it together soon!

You have everything in the world to be ecstatic about! Especially your sparkly vampire of love, Robert Pattinson!

Did you even listen to this interview? I've seen awkward interviews on tv and this wasn't one of them. Questions were articulate and many, responses were the same. Performance was complimented and for the most part, respected as an artist. What interview did you watch Perez? It was definetly some scenario in your head, not in actuality. And most women don't like to hear or be addressed by, the term 'girlie.'

Except his real last name is Leibowitz. He's trying to hide that he's a jew.

Not even slightly awkward. You hate her, we get it. Now move on.

Yeah how was this awkward? You just want her to be a mess. Leave her alone.

  6. 6

What's awkward is reading your cringe worthy writing. What was awkward about this interview?

It's just a continuation of Perez attacking Kstew. He looks for ANYTHING to put her in a bad spotlight. Anything.
I think he is an awful person.

It amazes me that Perez will post attacks like this and then on the very same page post an "ism" What planet does he think WE are from that readers don't see the hyprocrisy ?

Yeah, only that he made a joke about his real name on the begin of the show and always makes fun of himself being a jew.
Probably you should watch the show at least before you talk about things you know nothing about and make a complete fo0l of yourself.

No, it was pretty awkward. Jon wanted her to open up about what drew her to the project while she hem-and-hawed and tussled her hair. Jon suggested it possibly had to do with being one of those books in highschool you have to read as an assignment but then sorta connects with you as you get into it. Kristen dodges this life preserver and goes on a vague tangent about how she didn't really go to highschool, but she thought she saw 'the book on a reading list once', but 'they [the students] got to make their own curriculum'. Jon didn't seem to know what to do with this, and tryed to roll it into some fun little riffs about a quirky school, but Kristen couldn't tell if she was being made fun of or not. Jon starts to run out of steam and Kristen abruptly comes back to the earlier talking point and vaguely explains how influential the novel was in her life as "it was influential to her and she would have catered for the crew for the chance to work on a movie based on it." I know Jon wanted to ask her if she catered for the crew. Despite knowing the answer would be a confused "No" and it would have been funny, he couldn't let this get odder.

Re: nationalenquirer – It's only bullying if it is homo directed vitriol, but is its hetero, it's attack mode. Even heterosexual men are given a 'pass' but women are very little respected by Perez. It must be sad to live in his head. I suppose we should pity him.

Re: nrkist – Catered for the crew was sort of a dumb reference, but it played out alright, IMO.

    14

Re: Rose – 'Catering for the crew' is not a reference to anything. Secondly, she DID work on this movie and we all know she DID NOT cater for the crew. Pretty weird invention about her fictional investment in the material. This is forgiving that 90 seconds ago she suggested she had never read Kerouac's novel because she didn't go to a conventional high school.

Why is this so difficult? All she has to do is punch-up the film. This isn't an interrogation or a real interview. Jon is not there to take a piss in her cheerios, he's there to help her out, but she's so defensive and confused the entire time.

Kristen: "I had a passing familiarity with the material, but the script initially drew me in. As production went on, I became more and more invested in this peek into Kerouac's life and the lifestyle of the beats. It was exciting. In a way, being introduced to this material fresh for the film was a real ride. I really wanted to understand this character. Be this character. She's pretty awesome. I dunno that I understand her completely, but I hope I do her some justice. It was a lot of fun. An eye-opener." That's all she had to say! For someone that didn't go to school, she sure felt like she was being quizzed.

  16. 16

Maybe it's because Jon Stewart got the first interview in after the "scandal" and Jon jokingly told Rob,"kick her to the curb."Lol. He may have later sent a message to KS telling her no hard feelings.

  17. 17

More Kristin bashing, dick breath. Give it a rest already.

Plus she's always that way in interviews. It's pretty obvious she's a tad shy.

    Re: nrkist
She did read the novel when she was young and she said she saw it on the list and was able to choose it because the school allowed you to make your own ciriculum. She was saying she'd do anything to be a part of it and didn't think she could pull off the role but she'd be happy to cater for the cast or do anything to be involved.

I'm sorry but that was super akward. She looked like she had to pee the whole time. What she said was mostly okay, but why is everyone here seem to stick up for some stuck up pampered actress. She spent half the interview talking about how different and special she was because SHE was an ACTress, even in "high school" And does she always have all those stupid looks on her face?

  22. 22

umm this is probably the least awkward interview that I've seen Kristen do. no awkward silences, she gave longer responses that weren't just one word answers, and stayed fully engaged with Jon not looking all around. Perez gulping down that haterade. I'm not even a fan of hers but give credit where credit's due instead of trying to make someone look bad

It is just me, or is this the longest promo in the history of movie promos? It's a movie, not a political election! She's been at it since On the Road debuted at Cannes back in May with brief interludes for Breaking Dawn promo and oh yeah- the cheating scandal. Snore. They've been over doing Kristen Stewart promo to get more attention for the film because of her Twilight fame. She's only in 15 minutes of this movie, and half of that she's naked or not talking. Which is actually preferable because when she does talk we get crap like this interview. I'd give her a pass for being awkward if she wasn't always so pretentious.

I don't know what interview everyone seemed to watch. It's awkward. Kristen Stewart IS awkward. The only reason it seemed less awkward than other Kristen interviews is because Jon Stewart knows how to do his job — even when people make it difficult for him. Also, Perez Hilton calls everyone out. That's what he does. I'm sure Kristen Stewart knows she's awkward too. Not really a shocker. Also, maybe people wouldn't feel the need to make fun of her if they didn't think she was an ungrateful, spoiled little girl based on her many comments about fame. And "girlie" by the way, is a harmless term used by plenty of people, including myself. It's not meant with some misogynistic undertone. Calm down. Recognize you're at Perez Hilton's site. If you don't like it, don't go to it.

She just doesn't warm up to people enough but I don't think this interview is all that bad. There were awkward moments and I get the distinct feeling that the bit about the novel having changed her was scripted or not sincere, but she tried her best and it was a good interview.
