Mother And Brother Of Sandy Hook Shooter Found Dead

This sick story has taken an even more twisted turn. If that's possible.

According to new reports Ryan Lanza, the gunman who killed 27 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School this morning, shot and killed his own mother, Nancy Lanza.

Nancy was kindergarten teacher at Sandy Hook, and believed to be the main target of the shooting.

Authorities say Ryan shot his mother inside her classroom, before he took aim at the students. The reports suggest that most of the children murdered in the school were in that classroom.

A law official has revealed further the gunman's BROTHER was found dead in a home searched in Hoboken, New Jersey.

So horrific!

Re: boston61 – Hey asshole: Laws don't prevent people from getting guns if they really want them, just as locks are for honest people. The Constitution grants us the right to bear arms; if you don't like that, tough shit. The only person responsible for the shooting is the one who pulled the trigger. It's too bad your stupid, liberal ass wasn't there too so we'd have to endure one less retard making stupid statements about responsibility. Your death would be NO loss.

Re: boston61 – First of all, I want to say I respect you voicing your opinion on this issue. The beauty of this country is our right to debate/express our opinions. However, I find it completely inappropriate to blame gun control only HOURS after 27 people, including 20 Kindergarteners, lost their lives only 11 days before CHRISTMAS! The facts have yet to emerge on whether this weapon was stolen, or if this person had a concealed carry permit. A gun can't just get up and commit a crime on it's own…there has to be an EVIL person with some very serious issues to go into a classroom and shoot 5 and 6 years old. Evil will find other ways to commit these crimes without guns.

I hope you see this, but it would be superb to correct the false information the media aired in a misunderstanding.

Correct the shooters name as it was confirmed the brother Ryan was NOT the shooter, he was at work and in transient to his residence.

The deceased in the home was the father.

The shooter Adam was also apparently intellectually disabled.

It is slanderous to have this still stating it was Ryan, when news outlets have openly spoke of the misunderstanding. The poor guys life is already ruined with the stigma that will be attached to him and the loss of his family, at least correct it.

They savagely stab one another instead. It's so much more civilized isn't it to physically stab your victim to death than pull a trigger? Criminals and mindless idiots are out there, you can try your best to control them, but in the end, they're going to do what they're intent on doing. Did you hear the one about the guy who shot is father (a teacher) with a cross bow during class? I guess not having a gun really stopped him. Just like it being illegal to carry guns on school grounds really stopped these two (waste of life) individuals today. Lets pass a law, that'll show these nuts what they can't do. How's that working out? Way to go those of your out there who are anti-gun without really thinking about.

Re: emeraldfire – I do agree that the biggest problem America has is not their guns (even tho the controls in order for people to have a gun should be much more strict and the ridiculous law that every citizen can carry one should be voided too). The biggest problem is that american culture is violent. Pitifuly people are exposed to all kinds of violence since they are born. I think its time people get conscious about it.

Look at it this way, there were two tragic attacks today, one guy was armed with a gun and killed close to 30 people, another with a knife and thankfully although many injured, none dead. Yes the psychos will have there way no matter what, so why allow them weapons that are a damn sight easier to kill with than others! Drugs are illigal, but we all know people do it anyway, so just legalise it all and give crack to the people? Kids drink no matter what you do, so lets scrap the legal drinking age too. People will do terrible things no matter what, and I'm so shocked and saddened by todays events, so why make it easier for them?

    Re: bleahf

Remember the constitution came after independence from England. Had the writers meant just the regular army, they would have written it as such. The writing is pretty specific, the militia is tasked with ensuring the "security of a free state," as in free from unjust rule by either foreign or domestic aggressors (or tyrannical government). The US government is pretty much a response to, what the colonist felt, as unfair treatment by the British crown. They felt they needed to protect the people from such an unjust rule happening again. obviously they've failed since some of us have forgotten history which inevitably repeats itself when the lessons of the past are forgotten or ignored.

    Re: Lady Says

For the same reason that the war on terror is futile and unattainable. You’re fighting against something built into the fabric of human nature which unfortunately means the extinction of the species to rid us of it at this stage of our development.

And magnitudes more people died today from avoidable accidents so what’s your point? People die from tragic and avoidable events every single day.

The problem with making things illegal, as you've pointed out, it doesn't stop the psychos out there. So you would have everyone handicapped just for the perception of safety, because that’s all it is, a perception. Just like the perception those unfortunate parents felt as they dropped off their children to a gun free zone. That definitely work well didn't it?

There was a woman who stabbed her husband to death, she nailed him 200 times, so it is time to get rid of all knives. The man that strangeled all the woman years ago with ropes, we need to get rid of rope, how about poison, we need to get rid of that too, It is people who have nothing to say that always want to blame anyone but the perp who did it. I am NRA, I have guns, my adult kids have guns in their homes locked up away from the kids. If someone breaks into their homes they can protect their families, how about you it take about 11 minutes for the cops to get to your after a 911 call if not longer, That gives some guy with a knife [lenty of time to kill you, your kids and the family dog.Because YOU are to chickenshit to get a weapon and learn how to use it and protect your family, SO if it happens let us who have guns know so we can blame the deaths on you for not defending your family , hot shot. I am sure the others that you are trying to lay the blame on are going to come after you too,.Another OBAMA voter heard from. I bet you dont believe in the death penalty either lol

She was Murdered at her home, and the teacher of the classroom was shot as well as the students. Get your facts straight. Too many "I heard"s going around. Lets stop talking and start acting. This isn't a rumor mill, these are precious lives lost 10 days before Christmas. These children should have been spending today at a local mall sitting on Santa's lap telling him what they want for Christmas. Instead they are sitting in heaven. Lets get the facts straight and start fixing this nation so no other child has to endure their last moments on this earth frightened!! Lets make this world safe again!

    56

    Re: Lady Says
It’s being realistic. Why sugar coat something and hide from it. Guns have been around for hundreds of years and yet, these mass murder type incidents perpetrated by cowards are a recent trend. Don’t get me wrong, we’re had mass murders with gun since its invention and mas murders with other instruments long before that, but not of these types (mentally ill drugged up cowards and easy, disarmed targets with a touch of worldwide fame to go with it).

Every measure of gun control in place FAILED in this instance and to think that more would prevent future incidents is asinine. The shooting is the effect, now what is the cause? The gun itself is an instrument. Since these type of incidents started to occur, all we've every looked at is the instrument, so what did we do, right, restrict the instrument. But wait, more incidents occured. Now what? Right. More restrictions on the instrument. How’s that working out? Oh, right. It’s not is it?

Guns by itself don’t kill people. People using guns kill people. All anyone ever seems to look at is the gun and completely ignoring the person. This type of massacre will continue until we get to the root of the problem.

Re: MacTX – I completely agree with LadySays, sure there are the phsycos out there who are going to do these terrible things regardless of the law but why are we make it so easy for them? I found it shocking to hear that citizens in America legally have the right a carry a weapon, why? "Self defence"? Isn't this just encouraging the violence? If it weren't so easy for people to go out and get themselves these weapons maybe then maybe they'd just have to settle for that kitchen knife or screwdriver they have lying around? Maybe someone could have stopped them sooner? Maybe more children would've lived? Since scotland's dunblane school massacre in 1996 resulting in a ban of allnprivate ownership of handguns in the uk the exception being historical guns and sporting guns (with a license). Since then there has been just one shooting spree in the uk. I can't believe people are not for these laws making it harder to posses these weapons. Anything to make it harder for these criminals. If its because you wish to own one yourself then surely you have a valid reash to an therefore should have no problem getting a license for one if the laws were to be made stricter?

  63. MacTX says – reply to this

    63

    Re: Megz22

    Read those articles.

The majority of those massacres occur in a gun free zone; a point conveniently left out. Firearms are prohibited on those premises; your argument on the right to carry a weapon is irrelevant. What encourage violence is a sign up front advertising that the people within are unarmed and helpless. Why do massacres occur at such a place and not where armed people congregate? When was the last time a police station had a massacre or any other place with a high percentage of armed occupants? An armed society is a polite society and a disarmed society is target practice for the criminals and the insane. We pass laws and expect them to follow them. How many more lives do we have to lose before we realize, as a collective, that they don’t? You should ask our law makers and anti-gun supporters WHY they keep making it easier for the criminals. We hand them disarmed people on a silver platter and we wonder why we still have massacres.

    64

    Re: Megz22

You'll have to Google the article yourself, it's the

"Twelve facts about guns and mass shootings in the United States" on the Washington Post site.

Also, Scotland has a different history and culture and trying to compare apples to oranges is futile. The problem is that gun control laws don’t stop these massacres. We've had gun control laws for a while and none are effective. If they were, these massacres would be a distance memory. At best it’s just a road block. I’m also not naive enough to think that gun problems can be solved with gun control laws; they target the wrong group.
