Surprised to hear that Barbra Streisand's performance in her new movie The Guilt Trip ISN'T Golden Globe-worthy?!
Apparently, the studio responsible for its release, Paramount Pictures, was!
Because while the nominations for this year's ceremony weren't announced until yesterday morning, a promo for the comedy co-starring Seth Rogen appeared on the internet Wednesday night, praising the legendary icon for her revealed-to-NONEXISTENT accolade!
Obviously, the minute poor Babs didn't make her way into any of the categories, Paramount pulled the clip from rotation and released the following statement:
“Given Barbra’s incredible performance in the film, there was certainly every hope in our mind that she would be duly recognized this morning. Like all studios, we create many advertising spots in advance of they key award nomination announcements so we are prepared in the event of a nomination. One such spot was inadvertently posted online and immediately taken down.”
Folks should now by now that Awards season NEVER goes as anyone expects it to, so jumping the gun on nomination predictions will ALWAYS lead to situations like this!
We doubt our Queen is TOO torn up, though!
And if she is, at least she can dry her tears with the TWO Oscars, EIGHT Grammys, and FIVE Emmys she's accumulated over the years!
Better luck next time, gurl!
