We've been following Daniel Radcliffe's Kill Your Darlings for what feels like FOREVER, but we're finally getting proof that the movie will be released!!!

Sundance Film Festival, set to premiere the flick January 17-27, has released the film's first official photo (above) along with a synopsis.

The synopsis reads:

"While he is attending Columbia University in 1944, the young Allen Ginsberg’s life is turned upside down when he sets eyes on Lucien Carr, an impossibly cool and boyishly handsome classmate. Carr opens Ginsberg up to a bohemian world and introduces him to William Burroughs and Jack Kerouac. Repelled by rules and conformity in both life and literature, the four agree to tear down tradition and make something new, ultimately formulating the tenets of and giving birth to what became the Beat movement. On the outside, looking in, is David Kammerer, a man in his thirties desperately in love with Carr. When Kammerer is found dead, and Kerouac, Burroughs, and Carr are arrested in conjunction with the murder, the nascent artists’ lives change forever.

Daniel Radcliffe fearlessly takes on the role of the young Ginsberg on a journey of discovery—to find his sexuality and his voice as a writer. Cowriter/director John Krokidas takes on this less-explored early chapter of the Beats and captures the period with visual flair, kinetic energy, and imagination. Kill Your Darlings is the riveting true story of a crime, a friendship, and the nexus that spawned a cultural movement."

AHHHH!! We were concerned about whether or not we could see Daniel Radcliffe as anything else but Harry Potter for as long as we live, but this summary sounds like the perfect breakout role for him!

Not to mention, the film also stars some of our other favorites like Elizabeth Olsen, Michael C. Hall, Ben Foster, and Jack Huston!!

See you soon, Utah!!! We almost promise not to bring our Griffindor scarves.

Awesome synopsis, great cast and good movie.I so want to see it.mainly because my BF, Daniel Radcliffe's in it.and I hope he does great and kills it.and I'm proud to see that he's in a movie that's not Harry Potter related.because I'm tired of people calling him Harry Potter.

David Cross played Ginsberg in that movie I'm Not There and now he's playing Ginsberg's dad in this movie. :) I think the Lucian actor looks perfect and I'm not totally convinced about the others but they sure look great in this picture. I am way more excited about this than On the Road. I'm so curious about how they're gonna portray Carr and Kammerer especially. In the 2000 one with Courtney Love they made it seem like Kammerer tried to rape Carr which pissed me off. I think they won't do that in this one especially since it looks like it's mostly from Ginsberg's perspective and he was really upset at the time with the newspapers portraying Carr as a victim of Kammerer since Kammerer never tried to rape him and Carr killed him in anger after Kammerer had made some drunken threats on his girlfriend. Potter's a bit short to be Ginsberg but Franco did a short Ginsberg and it wasn't half bad. As always I'm hoping to see a quality Burroughs portrayal!

It's spelled GRYFFINDOR, not Griffindor. What a muggle mistake.
