Things are about to get a LOT more dramatic on the internet!!

Production company Prospect Park has just confirmed that cancelled daytime soap operas One Life To Live and All My Children will be revived for your online pleasure!!

Since the shows were officially pulled off the air last year, it was always the plan to bring back the beloved dramas for fans in a paid online setting until Prospect Park’s Rich Frank & Jeff Kwatinetz ran into some trouble when they began negotiations with guilds SAG-AFTRA and DGA. Fortunately, the producers never lost hope and finally reached an agreement today.

Prospect Park said:

“The news comes at a fortuitous time, as the four remaining daytime soaps on TV are having a strong ratings showing, all posting gains vs. last year.”

Thank god!! All is well in the world!!

Whatever characters they decide to bring back, we’re SO ready for the affairs, illegitimate children, family rivalry, addictions, disorders, fatal illnesses, backstabbing, punching, and so MUCH MORE scandal to ensue!!!

After almost 2 years of consistent protesting and rallying and calling and writing ABC begging them to reconsider, I hope this last ditch effort from Prospect Park brings about some results. I was an OLTL fan from the time I was 7, 30 years ago, and miss it every day.

I'm not interested in PP's online edition of OLTL and AMC. LAST YEAR, I was interested–now soap fans have more leverage. ABC's ratings are in shambles, and DIS stock is floundering.

This is too little, too late. I want these shows back on television (cable is fine) and on the web.

You have incorrectly attributed a quote to Prospect Park. That which you quoted was actually in the article on deadline.com right after the line "Prospect Park refused to comment". This is the entire section:
Rich Frank & Jeff Kwatinetz’s Prospect Park made a licensing deal with ABC in July 2011 to keep OLTL and AMC alive for online distribution on their Online Network, which was slated to launch in the first quarter of 2012. But after difficult negotiations with the guilds, the company last November pulled the plug on its plans, despite securing a slew of OLTL and AMC actors to reprise their roles. While the online venture was formally dead, I hear Frank and Kwatinetz never lost hope, and had been quietly working since the summer on putting their plan back together and had been talking with the guilds, resulting in agreements with SAG-AFTRA and DGA. (The status of talks with WGA is unclear.) I hear there are preliminary discussions with actors from All My Children and One Life To Live to rejoin the revived shows. Prospect Park refused to comment.

The news comes at a fortuitous time, as the four remaining daytime soaps on TV are having a strong ratings showing, all posting gains vs. last year.

Re: susanmz – How do fans have any leverage? We are not part of the process to bring them back.

i hear that actors are scared of being pulled off their current soaps. My question is frank signed the deal to move to prospect park as well-will he be writing again for OLTL
