Walking Dead Gains 4th Season, Loses Show-Runner!

the walking dead fourth season renewed amc glen mazzara fired show runner twitter zombies

As John Travolta always never says, "whenever Xenu closes a door, he opens a window… to an intergalactic space cruiser!"

Likewise, AMC renewed The Walking Dead for a fourth season yesterday, but closed the door on their current former show-runner! Yay!/Aww!

Those saddened to not find an apocalypse outside their window yesterday morning should find comfort in knowing the dead will walk the earth for at least another year!

Why wasn't season three show-runner Glen Mazzara invited to participate?!

The network and the exec apparently had differing opinions on which direction to take the show. As is usually the case in matters like these, the dudes holding the checkbook had the last laugh.

Glen isn't bitter, though. Earlier today on Twitter he said:

Kudos on a classy exit, sir!

Glen will stay intimately involved with post-production for the second half of season three, which begins airing in February.

Re: ss – Glen Mazzara is/was one of the writers behind The Walking Dead. As far as I know, the character Glenn Rhee isn't going anywhere. I had to look that up because I thought Perez meant the character too and was like, "Awww man, nooooo!" *sad face* LoL

boooo after the first season of the walking dead, the show goes downhill from there, boring with no action. Now that Glenn is gone, no point of watching this dumb show at all!

I think people are confusing Glen, the executive producer/show-runner, for Glenn the character. The one leaving the show is the producer, not the actor. The actor who plays Glenn is Steven Yeun, and he's not going anywhere.

Re: HarleyD – Thanks that is what I was wondering. Perez needs to realize not everyone is going to know what a show runner is and should be more specific.
