Anne Hathaway Makes Anne Hathaway Cry At Les Miserables Premiere

Anne Hathaway Cries Les Miserables

It's her movie, and she'll cry if she wants to!

Anne Hathaway's performance in Les Miserables is moving a lot of filmgoers to tears- and Anne herself is one of them!

The Dark Knight Rises star cried when she saw herself as the famous ill-fated prostitute. She says:

"I cry, but I think it's because I'm still connected to the experience of making it, the process. For me, when I see it, I actually have to be aware when I'm doing press, because it brings me a lot closer to Fantine.

She's so broken that I actually have to protect myself a little bit. So when I saw it, I did cry, but not because of what I was doing [on screen]. It was because I was back in the process of making it."

So what was so bad about the process? Anne deprived herself of food for at least 13 days in order to lose a whopping 25 lbs for the film!

Eesh, we're getting a little teary just thinking about not eating for two weeks!

No wonder Anne is trying to get pregnant- she's planning on making up for lost time by eating for two! LOLz!

Anne get over youself, it's amazing how actresses take themselves so serious…another self absorbed asctress

I want to like her, but she makes it impossible. Why do actors and actresses get the amount of credit they do? What useful skills do they have and can utilize in the real world? I'd be surprised if she even knew how to make an excel spreadsheet with even the most basic formulas. There are people who work full-time for years and put themselves through school and they will never receive half of the respect these people do. It's hard to take actors seriously.

Also, this happens to be one of my favorite novels. It's a real doozy to get through. though.

You know, humility is something Hollywood seems to be missing. I want to like Anne, but she seems to be full of herself and her talent. I don't deny she's a good actress, but when actors start talking about how talented they are and about how good they are in a specific role that just turns me off them. Anne, eat a little humble pie.

After playing with fantina, why has she sold her self into sex slavery, with the druggy BF. It's not the kind of home a child should be raised in.

She cried because she knew how boring the movie is and that she'd have to sit through it.

For those of you who say you dislike her for lack of humility, where in that quote does she even mention her "talent?"

She makes a point to say that it isn't what's going on on screen that gets her. She's moved by the work behind the scene. She's probably referring to the vocal coaching, dieting, costuming, directing, etc…. I don't really see how she's being self absorbed here.

@Office Drone, who cares if she can make an Excel Spreadsheet with basic equations? Is that a prerequisite for being a human being now? Actors get paid what they do and get the attention they do because their craft brings in MILLIONS of dollars for studios. The industry also supports a huge number of those people you refer to that put themselves through school- cameramen, writers, technicians, etc, etc.

So if you're advocating that actors get a pay cut, where should the money go? Seems like more would just go to studio executives. Call me crazy, but I like the idea that people who are talented, produce attractive work, and promote it get the cut they've earned.

I'd cry too if I had to sit through that "film."

Re: thisIthink – That's where we differ. I don't consider her talented. I also think it's ridiculous the way actors are viewed by people like you.

    Re: Office Drone

    "…people like you."

Since you don't know me, I don't think you're in a position to judge how I view actors or anyone for that matter. I was sort of playing devil's advocate in saying that, as with popular authors, athletes, news anchors, etc, their work brings in a ton of money. If your job is highly profitable, you tend to have a high income. Simple.

I never said actors work harder than anyone else. There are a lot of good people who work extremely hard and are underpaid, unfortunately. Actors are just normal people in high paid positions like company CEOs, etc, etc. I'm not idolizing anyone here.
