Despite all of the horrific and deplorable events that take place in this world on a daily basis, we cannot forget that there is still so much love, support and respect among the human race…

As was evidenced yesterday when police from various regions of Connecticut offered up their services so that NO Newtown, CT officer had to work on Christmas day.

Newtown police spokesperson Sergeant Steve Santucci shared on Christmas Eve:

"They've been actually non-stop with their aid. It's pretty amazing, and tomorrow, they'll be at our assistance so that Newtown [officers] can be home with their families."

Not only are these honorable officers taking over for their Newtown compatriots, but many of them apparently didn't even accept payment!

And those who did are reportedly donating their overtime/holiday pay that they got for working on December 25th to funds benefitting Sandy Hook Elementary!

Incredible. So heartwarming.

Acts of such kindness can only serve to make this world a happier, safer, more peaceful place.
