This is so sad!
The great actor Harry Carey Jr. has passed away at the age of 91. He died of natural causes in Santa Barbara, surrounded by his family and friends.
Carey was in over 100 films, but is best known for his roles in John Ford’s westerns. He also acted in Gremlins and Tombstone.
Leonard Maltin, a film critic, talked about the actor, saying:
"In recent years, he became kind of the living historian of the modern era. He would get hired on films by young directors who just wanted to work with him, to be one step away from the legends. Some hired him to just hear his stories between takes."
This is truly a huge loss to the film world and Carey will be forever missed.
Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
