Great Gatsby Author Was A Drag Queen??

F Scott Fitzgerald Drag

Fans of The Great Gatsby may think the author would have identified most with Nick Carroway, the narrator Tobey Maguire plays in the upcoming movie version.

But it turns out F. Scott Fitzgerald may have made an even better Daisy!

The revered author was apparently an occasional cross-dresser, as seen in this pic from The New York Times way back in 1916!

The pic appeared among promo materials for a musical comedy show called The Evil Eye the writer was performing in while at Princeton.

And if you think F. Scott made quite the fetching lass, you aren't alone! The Times reportedly called the author "the most beautiful" girl in the show!

If only Ru Paul's Drag Race were around a hundred years ago to put that claim to the test! LOLz!

Perez, you idiot. You say, and I quote: "The pic appeared among promo materials for a musical comedy show called The Evil Eye the writer was performing in while at Princeton." So him being "in character" makes him a cross-dresser?

You just think everyone deep down inside is gay because you had issues as a child. Fuck you. Not everyone is gay.

Men often times played the female parts in theater back then.

God PERV-ez you are such a dork always trying by lying/misleading/misrepresenting the facts to "prove that everyone is gay" fucking LOSER. here are some REAL FACTS,, The show was produced by The Princeton Triangle Club,,,The club is known for its tradition of featuring an all-male kick line in drag. Since 1891, similar to the Hasty Pudding at Harvard where men in drag are the norm for their productions. All of the drag actors are used for the comedic responce, not as an expression of someone proclivities.

Re: Lasqueesha – ,,, as may be, but they are all more attractive than you.

Re: lil lee – they still do as i said first bothg clubs still , by tradition, use men in drag. PERV-ez its too warped/biased/untruthful/ to tell the truth or do a minor amount of research, and clearly did not receive a passing grade after the 6th grade when he was 18.

Re: Spence – WOW! That's an important clarification about an American icon, Spence! Thank you for writing that. I have to stay off this site. I left awhile back but came back for the "new" Perez. I think "new Perez" still has quite a ways to go when it comes to integrity in his business. Peace out.

It was an accepted common for men to dress as women for theatrical performances in Fitzgerald's time. He did this while participating in a play at Princeton and later talked about how much fun he and his friends had doing that. No, I believe Scott Fitzgerald was all man all the time.
