Facebook Inspires Manslaughter! Woman Shoots Brother Dead During Photoshoot!
What the…
19-year-old Savannah Ramirez (pictured above) accidentally shot and killed her brother, Manuel Ortiz (pictured above), during a Facebook photo sesh on New Year's Eve.
While partying at Manuel's Phoenix, Arizona apartment, a friend of the siblings thought it would be swell to take out a gun to pose with and while Savannah innocently played around, the gun went off and into Manuel's head. He died instantly.
Whether or not the group knew the weapon was loaded remains to be discovered, as the police continue to investigate the tragic incident.
Police Sgt. Steve Martos said:
"Every New Year's Eve, this particular sister is going to be thinking about this for the rest of her life on how…drinking overnight, playing with a gun and now shoots and kills her brother."
If alcohol tests come back positive for Savannah, then it is more than likely that she will be charged with manslaughter.
This is just another example why we need some serious gun control!!!

This has nothing to do with Gun Control it has to do with thinking before you act. Guns don't just "go off" you have to pull a trigger that has pressure weighing against it. In this situation though, yes, sad, it would appear that no one (Photographer included) checked the magazine (Which according to law shouldn't be in anyway indoors without probable cause), no one checked the chamber, and they were more than likely intoxicated whilst holding a weapon. As much as this story is about a lack of common sense, it is undeniable that gun control is a factor. These things don't happen in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Europe… Unfortunately guns aren't always owned by educated, responsible people… The fact that fire arms deaths in the United States are typically around 10,000 each year, and other first world nations rarely top 100 really does show that gun control is an issue in circumstances like these… Should these people have been allowed to own guns? They were clearly irresponsible, so why did they even own guns? The United States needs to really look at their gun policies and review the reasons for gun ownership. Why is it necessary to own a gun?
