If you haven't seen the original Twin Peaks, we have to break up! We're sorry, but that's the way it is! Don't make a scene!
Twin Peaks is one of the BEST shows, regardless of having been canceled just two seasons into the series… which was a cray decision! We mean, why wouldn't the network want to keep a David Lynch show around?? It's too delightfully weird not to, even if it wasn't getting the best ratings!
In a new issue of Sci-Fi Now magazine, Mark Frost (the co-creator) says the show is:
“something we talk about from time to time… If we ever do decide to move forward. I know we have a rich trove to draw from.”
That's not the only thing, though. There was an anonymous source saying that he was recently part of a meeting with NBC execs and David Lynch. It's not verifiable, of course, but hey — a lot of industry rumors come about, and some of them have a habit of being dead on.
The most encouraging sign that this might be possible is that David has made his way back to television. He has a recurring character on The Cleveland Show and had a spot on Louie.
While there's no real confirmation that this is happening for sure, it's a dream that we want to happen — and now's the best time television landscape-wise to do it!
