Diana Ross Throws Hissy Fit Over Mountain Being Too High Wait For Table

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueSIGHting

Diana Ross Hissy Fit Lunch

Apparently there is something long enough to keep Diana Ross from getting to lunch…

…and it’s the wait.

Mz. Ross met her match with La Scala in Beverly Hills, and she did not come out of the battle looking like the bigger person.

The Supremes superstar threw a hissy fit after being denied an immediate table since the rest of her dining party hadn’t arrived. She made it there before her daughter, so Diana was left waiting, but gurlfriend wasn’t putting up with that for long!

The original diva went into the restaurant anyway and sat in a corner…like any mature adult.

In her defense, did they know she was THE Diana Ross?!

Whether they did or not, La Scala didn’t back down as the restaurant manager spoke with her about their seating policy and how she still wasn’t going to be served until she waited and was properly seated.

But she never was served because once her daughter arrived they both left to apparently dine elsewhere.

While she was busy chowing down, the owner of La Scala, Gigi Leon, released a statement letting Diana know she is welcomed back but will still have to wait like the rest of us non-fierce people. Gigi commented:

“I'm sorry that Miss Ross had a problem with that and she feels that the rules didn't apply to her. Our policy is that we don't sit incomplete parties. If people jump the line, our policy is we don't serve them, and she was told that. We treat everyone the same whether you're famous or not. We love having her as a customer. We'd be happy to have her back.”

Wow!

A place that doesn’t care who you are??

A rare gem in El Lay!

All celebrities should be treated the same way everywhere. Being famous doesn't make you a good or worthwhile person, and all "stars" need to learn that they sit to take a shit, just like the rest of us. Ross is a has-been hag anyhow.

People will never run out of ways of making themselves look foolish.

Woman is a major bitch….and lets be blunt…a has been. She performs to a tape and no live band most of the time.

I love it! I'd go to that restaurant just because he said that he treats everyone equally, famous or not. HA!

  7. 7

F*ck La Scal! They sound arrogant and full of themselves. They don't seat incomplete parties? WTF not!? Sorry, but that restaurant is in the wrong and they can go f*ck themselves.

I hate that policy at restaurants. You should be able to sit at a comfortable table and while waiting for your party. It's only becasue the restaurant is afraid of you taking too much time and losing money. Fuck them.

Spoiled bitch. Besides, the Supremes broke up in the 60s. No one under 50 knows who she is.

Policies vary from restaurant to restaurant. I have been to tons of company gatherings for various occasions, and you just need to do your research and call ahead, In fact a few times going to a favorite Mexican place we have FAXed our order in ahead of time.

    Diana should know better,
after all she worked as a bus girl for Hudsons in Detroit

That restaurant needs to get over themselves… Was it really such an imposition that she sat down? Really? A restaurant that doesn't care who you are? b*tch please… Was the bad publicity worth it?

Its a stupid policy, restaurants in LA do this because they think it makes them special or high class. If Im giving my business to a restaurant I want to be seated and order a drink while I wait for guests to arrive, if I make reservations for 6 people and 2 people are running late it absurd to think we would all sit around and wait when we could be ordering and spending more money!

The customer is supposed to be king, not the restaurant policy. Good lord. Did they really leave the legendary Dianna Ross cooling her heels in the lobby? She's Yikes at that, and bigger yikes at their 'statement' - 'I'm sorry that Miss Ross had a problem with that and she feels that the rules didn't apply to her…' How very rude of them to embarrass her further. She's also 68 years old. Seat the woman!

I would have left as well, and will never eat there. Ungraciousness to anyone is a hospitality no- no. Pencil pushers rule La Scala? Nobodies will put up with that kind of treatment, but not old school manners.

  21. 21

HA! I don't blame her. She is Diana Ross & the wait at some of thes eplaces is all out rediculous. Try Sur in We Ho. 45 minute wait, rude staff, loud atmosphere & I don't care if they are on a reality show. The place sucks ass as far as service unless you are pals with the owner, The food is excellent but by the time the waitress/hooker gets it too you ITS COLD! I guess they spend a lot of time in front of the mirror so they couldn't possibly be bothered bringing you YOUR food on time. Hey Diana Do What I DO. Switch venues to Madeo's, Mastros Beverly Hills or the good old Ivy. Never let you down.

Re: Paulie – I agree totally & Diana Ross or whoever else should be treated with respect not like a 2 dollar customer.

I'll bet the other customers are thrilled by the way the restaurant handled it.

La Scala, if I'm back in my hometown anytime soon, I'll try to get by there for a meal specifically _because_ you insisted on treating people as equals. Nice going.

    Re: Paulie

Or you could just go f— yourself, instead. Yeah, I'd actually prefer that.

  26. @v@ says – reply to this

    26

Re: stephenf – You don't get it. It's not about treating them as equals, but about a restaurant treating people equally rudely. You're a sucker. Seat your customers with grace and as soon as you are able, or lose business.

Diana not only looks rediculous but she thinks that she can still behave that way? She is SO irrelevant and was never that talented but was one of the first :created" stars that unfortunately got too big for her wig! Fuck her! Used to love her but cannot respect somebody thinking they are above others. Go away bitch! Eat at Denny's!

Of course, NONE of these stories mention that Miss Ross HAS A BROKEN ANKLE. Any restaurant worth their salt would make an exception for a 68 year-old woman in her condition, and she was absolutely right in letting them know it.
Of course, the restaurant owner's rush to tell The Post and use Miss Ross' name to garner some cheap free publicity for herself is the truly disgusting behavior in this story.

Talk about having an attitude! Ms. Ross is a has-been, with an unjustified sense of entitlement and obviously just full of herself(translation full of sh*t)

Diana Ross is no one's has been this so call BITCH broke records, kick in doors…had it not been for the likes of Diana Ross half of the females performing to day wouldn't be where they're at. It's funny how the restaurant went running to the press with "their side of this delish tale" but we have yet to hear from Diana, or anyone else that was there. Fact is Diana still demands attention, and don't ever let it be forgotten Diana Ross is a fucking LEGEND……LEGENDARY…..the nerve of some people. F*ck La Scal!

    People!!!

She's a 68 year old woman who was recovering from a fall. Remember she fell at Naomi Campbell's party December 5, 2012 and broke her ankle. That was just about a month ago. She probably even had a limp!

What decent Beverly Hills resturant would not allow an older, injured woman the pleasure of sitting down at an empty table (which she had a reservation for by the way). And she's a grandmother for god sakes!!!

She was right to defiantly pop a squat and leave the moment her daughter arrived. That's not Diva that's GANGSTA.

And I can't help but wonder if they would have held Barbara Streisand (or any other white woman with a notable acclaim) to the same seating policies.

I smell a race issue along with plain old inconsideration.

ANY woman of her age with confidence, self respect and bum ankle would have had a similar reaction.

La Scala is the MESS here!
