Ughhh this maks us sad all day!
Strongly opinionated radio host Howard Stern recently familiarized himself with critically acclaimed HBO series Girls, a show which is created by (and stars) the young Mz. Lena Dunham.
And is he a fan?
And why? Because, according to Stern, Lena is a "fat… camera hog" who looks like Jonah Hill, and he doesn't want to watch her naked body imitating sexual acts on screen.
Stern stated on air Monday:
"It’s a little fat girl who kind of looks like Jonah Hill and she keeps taking her clothes off and it kind of feels like a rape. She seems—it’s like—I don’t want to see that.
I learned that this little fat chick writes the show and directs the show and that makes sense to me because she’s such a camera hog that the other characters barely are on. My opinion, if I was a producer on that, I’d say: ‘Honey, you’re a little too close to the project. You need to allow the other characters to breathe a little and let us get invested in them.
Good for her. It’s hard for little fat chicks to get anything going."
Ok, just… wait a second here.
REGARDLESS of whether or not you're a fan of the show, calling Lena Dunham fat is INSANE, and yet another example of the COMPLETELY warped standard of beauty that remains ever present in American society.
And not liking a show based on the fact that someone being "fat" disgusts you really says more about the person judging the show than it does about the quality of the product.
Ah well, Stern is generally stern in his opinions, so we shouldn't be surprised!
