I thought Argo was a great movie. Lincoln looks like the sort of worthy Oscar crap that critics like but no one else actually does.

Ben should get over himself. The Academy Awards are just a big circle jerk anyways. You get paid millions of dollars for not doing very much so why cry over not getting nominated for an award. Celebrities are so out of touch with reality.

I thought he was hilarious and I liked it. They didn't nominate Ben or Katherine Bigelow and that makes "the Academy" look bad not Ben or Katherine. Plus you figure that with most movie critics, they are also looking at how a movie succeeds at entertaining and exciting the people who go see it, and Argo was well done and was very entertaining and exciting to me. Maybe "the Academy" looks for other things, but Ben deserved his Best Director nomination. I'm glad he won the Critics' Award and that he joked about "the Academy." They deserve to get sniped at.

HELLLOOOOO …QT IS NOT NOMINATED !!!
Dicaprio is not Nominated in the supporting actor section ????!!!!
Who cares about BA …..Argo is a good movie …but not outstanding!
Argo is better than Moonrise kingdom? Zero dark is better directed/ or better movie than Django ?

a repost: Year after year, I view the Oscar Nominations/Winners with less and less creditability.
It is very sad that the Oscars are treated like you are running for political office. Argo was unbelievable overlooked with Oscar,,especially the Acting and Directing. Most of the time with Oscar, it is not the true talent that deserved the nomination or the win!! The Critics Choice made a loud statement to the Academy without knowing it. Argo was so deserving of the Awards it received, especially Ben Affleck for Best Director. Thank you for the real award shows like The Film Critic Awards that recognize the deserving Talent!

I give Ben all the credit in the world for being himself…..that comment was what he was truly feeling at the moment. It made me laugh!!! I was rooting for him to pull off the win after being snubbed. That was a true Hollywood Movie in the making…..the little guy winning and receiving justice.

Re: Esin Emko – obviously you did not watch the Critics Award Show last night. When Ben Affleck won Best Director, he received a standing ovation from the entire place. So I guess everyone in Hollywood does not think he is a A%%. :) Second, he was smart enough to marry a wonderful lady and with 3 beautiful, happy children. And a solid marriage which is very rare with celebrities.
