Jimmy Kimmel Beats Jay Leno In Key Demo

Jimmy Kimmel has finally achieved his first victory in the late night ratings war!

It has come to pass as foretold in the ancient prophecy. A few days ago. By Jimmy.

The ABC host beat out rivals Jay Leno and David Letterman among adults 18-49, often considered the most important group to advertisers for their purchasing power.

JKL drew in a high of 1.241 million adults, destroying The Tonight Show's 938,000 and Late Show's 929,000.

Jimmy is still behind on overall ratings to both senior shows, however, bringing in an audience of only 3.167 total, compared to Jay's 3.4 and Dave's 3.289.

But we wouldn't want to be sitting in Jay's 1955 Buick Roadmaster right about now!

Oh wait, yes we would! Jimmy's totally coming after him, but that's still a sweet ride! LOLz!

I prefer Jimmy Kimmel and his writing staff to that of Leno. He has much funnier material.

We'll see how many stick around or how many were just there because it was new. The numbers in a couple of months will be the real indicator if Kimmel is winning over the late night audiences. Traditionally, it's the oldies that stick it out on late night.

I'm just happy that so many people are coming out of the woodwork to put down Leno in the history books as total scum.

Is anyone apart from Perez actually interested in this story? Zzzzz

It sure doesn't hurt your ratings to have Ryan Gosling on you show. Sweet!

Good for him even if temporary. When he learns how to be funny AND keep it clean like Jay, he might do even better.

I love Dave, and can't stand Leno. I tried watching Jimmy a few times when Dave was in reruns but he just can't compare jmho. Nice guy but not a major talent. I'd like Dave to stay on a a while, at least three or four more years, in fact, as long as he'd like to- tv would not be the same without this seasoned, brilliant and talented man. Leno's just a canned ham and and best taken off the shelves.
