And we ain't talking about her SNL quote!!!

She finally confirmed her relationship with longtime partner Cydney Bernard, gave a beautifully poignant — and rather odd — speech about having privacy… and gave her mother permission to die?!

Ch-ch-check out the video (above) to see the most CRAY CRAY coming out speech we've ever seen!

Jodie out-crazied buddies Robert Downey, Jr. and Mel Gibson and managed to come out on top, winning over the audience and the world!

Literally, everyone!

She didn't come out. Am I missing something?

    Who cares.
It is not like anyone didn't figure out she was a lesbian 20 years ago or more.

    3

No, she did not! She made fun out of everybody doing so in a public promotional way. She promoted privacy.

Perez, catch up! Jodie has been out since 2007!

  5. 5

It was an awesome speech and what she said to and about her mother was amazing.

Frodo, if you didn't care you wouldn't be following this site!
    Love you Perez!

you are not giving her credit for how amazing her speech was. it was breathtaking and made most of the audience cry.

Okaay, I understand celebrities wanting privacy. I get that, but what about the celebrities who desire privacy when everything in their lives go wrong? But when everything's going great, they don't want that privacy anymore. Here's a little tidbit: how about you keep every bit of your life private (good and bad). This way they wouldn't have to worry about their lives being splashed across the tabloids.

<—-this is from 5 years ago when she came out then… lol

  11. 11

"gave her mother permission to die?!" Really?? I understood her speech as her mother having dementia and not comprehending what was going on. What an insensitive comment.

  12. fancypants66 says – reply to this

Re: MsOverstreet – You're an idiot. Her mother has dementia and she is old. Jodie wanted her to know that she loves her so when the mom is ready to die, she can go peacefully. Have you no intelligence at all? People with major dementia (as Jodie's mom) do not talk, do not recognize people — they just lay in bed, get up to be fed, use diapers, etc. They are shells. She is basically saying she isn't able to communicate with her mom, so she wants her to know that she loves her, and that she is okay is the mom is ready to die.

I thought the speech was amazing. Jodie is extremely intelligent and well-spoken. What a change from the current riff-raff in hollywood. So many stars could learn a lesson from her. She is absolutely amazing! I love her — always have.

I thought this speech would made me cry, but it just didn't happened, because I always know she was a lesbian and I never imagined her as a straight woman, I guess.

She came out in 2007. This is old news.

  15. 15

I didn't watch the Golden Globes, but from what I got from this video her speech was beautiful, meaningful, and touching. I admire her for sure.

  16. htownbohonk says – reply to this

    16

And her speech was a rebuke to people like you have terrorized gay people and tried to force them out of the closet on some arbitrary timetable instead of respecting everyone's individual choices on the matter.

it was gracious to aknowledge her ex partner

  21. Stampece says – reply to this

    21

This article is what we call 'irony'. Unintentionally, of course. She not only did not 'come out', she mocked the whole culture of media like this website, acknowledged that she had lived her life out of the closet for many years, and discussed the value of privacy.

  22. craptastic says – reply to this

    22

Re: Stampece – I couldn't agree more. Dipshit here overlooks the irony of it and posts it like he made it happen. If Perez listed to the speech he would understand that she didn't feel she needed to come out publicly - she already did years ago to the people who mattered… and I hate to tell you this Perez-you are not even on her radar.

  23. Melody says – reply to this

    23

You can all read Jodie's ex girlfriend who she thanked at the Globes cydney Berard bio and see pics of her and Jodie here.

  24. David says – reply to this

    24

Perez, only you would be dense enough to deduce that this was a coming out speech. I immediately thought of you when Jodie said she wasn't aware that all celebrities were required to hold press conferences for things like this. YOU have longed outed her on this very site, because YOU believe it is every homosexual celebrity's job to be out and proud. It isn't. Some people believe that their personal life should stay personal, as Jodie does. That doesn't make her an evil self-hating closet case, and that's what she was trying to explain.

Shame on you for attempting to force celebrities like her out of the closet. She very eloquently made a fool out of pseudo journalists like yourself tonight. Go Jodie!

Honest and moving. Nicely done. Wipes tear.

  26. Pammy61 says – reply to this

    26

That was so moving and sweet. Thank you Perez for placing it on your site. I was not able to see it live. I am so grateful your site has it. Brought tears to my eyes.

  27. RainbowBrite says – reply to this

    27

You know, Perez, coming out or not coming out is a big deal. Stop trying to bully celebrities you "think" are gay just because their sexual lives aren't plastered all over the news.

  28. 28

Amazing, it felt so real and intelligent…..it felt great

  29. 29

I shed a few tears and am quite happy for her, and hope she is totally embraced by everyone because that must have been difficult. She's an icon and a great actress and I wish her the best!

  30. raven says – reply to this

    30

I know we arent giving Jodie credit for that speech as a " coming out"

  31. James says – reply to this

    31

You make it sound like you're entitled to know whether someone is gay or not, Perez. Not your damn business moron.

  32. James says – reply to this

    32

And to the people who are saying she didn't come out. You must be blind, deaf, and dumb lol.

  33. Linga says – reply to this

    33

That was a nice speech, I don't see how it was odd at all. Where the hell did she come out? And how did she give her mother permission to die? You're an idiot for making a false headline like that.

  34. 34

is it really coming out if the whole world has known for years that you're gay?

  35. 35

Re: Stampece – wow, someone on here who has a brain. THANK YOU.

  36. Angela Hodgson says – reply to this

    36

Watch a true magician. Jodie Foster, you are a stupid idiot, you make tasteless movies about women being victimized. Everlasting shame on YOU!!

Linda Lovelace sought me out. I can find her today. She identifed Jean, Tom and Colin Murphy over five years ago in court with me. Too bad I couldn't get the peace bonds I sought to keep these people away from me because these three people are involved in human trafficking.

Nine lives, cats eyes… Steven Speilberg uses real live Nazi produced reel films to make some of his blockbuster movies. Gortex is using coldstress tests for their fabiric, that were develped by Dr. J. Mengeles. I SAY IF HOLLYWOOD WONT TAKE MEL GIBSON BACK THEY CAN KEEP STEVEN SPEILBERG AND JODI FOSTER!! Why dont you make some more movies about rape and cannabilism you sick bitch!!! The real heir to the thrones around the globe, Anya Romanov, formerly known and still sometimes using Angela Hodgson AMH, THE HODGE

  37. 37

Perez, I thought she was talking directly to you for a minute. It doesn't matter to me that she's gay. What's the big controversy. I am glad you have taken the high road and aren't outing people anymore.

  38. MsOverstreet says – reply to this

    38

Re: fancypants66 – I am not an idiot, as I have a grandmother with Alzheimer's and dementia who is literally on her deathbed. I thought Jodie's speech was moving and nearly cried at the beautiful way she talked about her mother and understood what her message was. I thought the way PEREZ put it was insensitive. Deducing that speech to "Watch Jodie come out and give her mom permission to die!" is an injustice to both Jodie's sexuality and her beautiful message to her mother.

  39. 39

"Love people and stay beside them." | "Privacy." | Anyone taking cheap shots at Jodie (now or then… that's you, hideous, disgusting Perez) should take a step back and think about those words and leave the hate at the door.

For those not quite there: Jodie came out a long time ago to the people in her life. And she came out to everyone last night; with class, depth, complexity and brilliance.

It will take most people a long time to catch up, but that's the beauty of her timeless speech.

  40. Mrs_Bathscum says – reply to this

    40

this speech was nothing to do with her sexuality, she was making a point of how irrelevant it is and how irrelevant the people who give a shit about big coming out speeches are, she is no-ones ambassador and yet you totally fucking missed the point as per usual dick head

  41. @v@ says – reply to this

    41

Re: Angela Hodgson – I had split feelings about one of her victim movies but realized that having to experience the uncomfortable celluloid created empathy, deep anger and understanding, plus internal motivation to try to end that kind of suffering. It was a tough but brave call, imo.

  42. JaniceSchacterLintz says – reply to this

    42

Enough about her sexuality, we want to know does she wear hearing aids? There was a photo years of her wearing a hearing aid. We need her to discuss her hearing loss if she in fact, has one. It is time someone broke the stigma for people with hearing loss and admitted in a public venue like the Golden Globes that they wear hearing aids.

    43

What are you talking about? She hasn't been in the closet for years! Not only that, she claimed very loudly to be single in her speech.

  44. 44

I didn't get the hint. I mean, the speech was good. But I didn't get the lesbian thing. It didn't sound like that's what she was trying to say

  45. jon says – reply to this

I hope she wins an Oscar this year so she can the opportunity to tell the public what brand of vibrator she and her girlfriend like to use. Actually who cares?

Re: ONIT – So True, She's been acting like a dyke for years.

  47. Angela says – reply to this

    47

My first thought watching her, was maybe she was drunk. Not because of what she was saying, but the way she was jerking and moving around as she spoke. Seems like she couldn't stand still at all. She is very articulate when she speaks, but almost like she over thinks too much, what to say next.

  48. Ocean says – reply to this

    48

She actually said repetidly in her speech that she came out years ago and that she isnt goping to do that again just because some retard like perezx want her to.
the interpretation as her cvcoming out is the stupid tabloids with IQ under 25, who didnt even understood her speech caused like you perez, they are too unintelligent to can reflect or hear what is said when they pretrend to listen.
She came out as being single.
she never hide her relationship with cydney bernard moron.. its was known ages ago and btw they arent together anymore since years.. lol
Abd next time you put a small extract ofg a long speech, take care to get the one where nothing is cut off from it.. there is plenty of that ful speech on youtube with also the part with wistling Mel Gibson.
The biggest part that you missed, so focused you were on her beaver stories, is the fact that she told that she wont be making any movies anymore nor acting and said clearly that she wont be on a stage and that this was her last time and her au revoir or Adieu.
Thats why the public was so moved and many cried.
But you didnt even get that nor show it.
