Jimmy Kimmel Reveals The TRUTH Behind Lindsay Lohan's Attorney Drama! Watch HERE!

she's annoying
I knew what it was! But it was pretty far out of left field, unless you just watched the movie, or know everything about every movie like I do.
Thanks, Sharon Lawrence, for calling fans out there "idiots". She needs to understand that not everyone has seen First Wives Club but that does not mean they are idiots. And even if the words "I beat Meryl" were from that movie, why say that about a fellow Nominee who lost to you? It came across as arrogant and not really funny. She could have just said she was sorry if she offended on Letterman. When it comes to class, she'll never "beat" Meryl!
LOVE her!! very down to earth, very real.
i love her. she obviously wasn't trying to be rude, get over it.
Lorjon, in context: the movie shows Bette Midler's character as basically washed up, dumped by her husband who is demanding a divorce and half her money, and at a very low ebb. Her stuff is stored at a friends' place, and she sees her award, picks it up, and says while looking at it wistfully, "see what this says? I beat Meryl." That's the joke. That Streep is such a legend that having once upon a time won an award when up against her is the single highest point of an actor's career - it validates a life, basically, even when that life is circling the drain in every other way. It's not a diss at all, it's homage.
It was dumb of JLaw to quote a movie not that many people will remember, when out of context it just sounded rude, but she was an overexcited 22 year old and she's already said she worships Streep to the point she stares at her if she catches a glimpse across a room. Cut her some slack. And I don't think anyone calling Lohan an idiot could be deemed unreasonable. It's one of the nicer things people are saying about LiLo these days.
Maybe people should do more research before they start dissing Jennifer over a quote. I bet Meryl Streep loved it. Grow up everyone else, seriously.
It is a quote she should have only said inside her head rather than the first words out of her mouth after winning an award. It was sure to be taken in a different context then what she was thinking. She didn't clarify that it was a quote so the majority of people who had no idea what was behind her statement saw it only as a pompous upstart egotistic jab. She's lucky she even won the award - her performance was not that good.
Oh - how jealous is Lohan? Sitting in her bed watching the Golden Globes which she was not, nor ever will be invited to (let alone be nominated for) - and there is American's Golden Girl - Jennifer Lawrence, one of the best actresses to come along in a very long while. And Lohan shoots from her overpuffed up lip about her quote from First Wives Club. Lohan is green with envy - she is so jealous that Lawrence is doing good and Lohan sits in her bed, having made and lost 25 million, owing the IRS, borrowing money from her assistants, reamed by the critics for her heavy breathing, sighing, gasping high school acting in Liz & Dick, trying to avoid jail for the 20th time - and Lawrence wins a Golden Globe. Jealousy makes Lohan crazy. Lohan truly is a jealous idiot - and oh so much more. More power to the girl who honestly and in real life - beat Meryl Streep!
People like to make a big deal out of nothing. I bet most of the people at the actual award show knew what she meant.
it was a cool way to say "I beat Meryl Streep"
i loved it. i thought it was a perfect joke for anyone with a sense of humor. im sure meryl got it!!
Re: kiki – No, you're annoying.
When you have to explain a joke, it's a bad joke.
Re: Kate – Exactly my thoughts!
Re: lorjon – she's JENNIFER LAWRENCE. NOT SHARON! YOU'RE A REAL IDIOT
you are annoying.
Re: lorjon – Well she's going to stand up to people who attack her especially when those people obviously dont know what they are taking about.
