Four More Years! President Obama And Vice President Biden Are Sworn In For Second Term!

It's official, folks!

Barack Obama began the second term of his Presidency by being sworn in by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts this morning in the White House Blue Room, alongside his wife Michelle and children Malia and Sasha!

And earlier this morning, Vice President Joe Biden did the very same, at his official residence of the Naval Observatory, presided by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor!

Now, before anyone gets confused about why this all went down today when there's a public ceremony that up to 800,000 people are expected to attend tomorrow, it's a Constitutional REQUIREMENT that the President and Vice President take the office on January 20th!

However, this sort of thing happens so rarely that the last President who got double the fun was Ronald Reagan in 1985!

But hey! After the intensity of this year's election - and the tragedies since to which he's responded with such swift action - we think our beloved POTUS DESERVES to have this celebration extended as long as possible!

We're SO looking forward to joining in on the festivities ourselves tomorrow!

But for today, we're so happy to see that Obama got to celebrate this MASSIVE, inspirational and truly-deserved accomplishment surrounded by his family and loved ones!

Enjoy this moment, Mr. President!

We couldn't be more proud to be an American today!

    Let the regime begin…

Just found out my husband may be laid off due to lack of work (he works in construction, mostly state jobs), our taxes have gone up, our cost of living has skyrocketed, and there isn't improvement in sight… 4 more years of this? I don't know how I am going to keep the lights on or a roof over our heads.

Hopefully he will do more this term besides looking like the black version of Alfred E Neuman.

Interesting body language between the Prez and first lady.

I'm so glad the north won the civil war and this election. Home prices and job offerings are skyrocketing in my highly educated area. This is going to be a great 4 years future voters will remember for years to come.

Since he's been elected I lost my job and then got a lower paying one. My healthcare has more than doubled and my coverage has decreased. Meanwhile I watch the people who are on government assistance work less and receive more. In addition the national debt is out of control and the president could care less. I also hear from my community that he's going to push through gay marriage. He had 4 years and nothing. I'm an educated gay man who is extremely dissapointed in this president. I'm sure that Obama will continue to blame Bush and the republicans for this mess of a country.

Re: LaurenAshley – (1) Downsize, own a property that costs less, or rent one with lower rent. (2)If you have two cars, sell on, have one car. (3)Eat out only on special occasions. (4) Go online and get coupons, and print them, you'd be amazed what you save! (5)When you can, treat yourselves to something you like, dinner or a movie, but make it a special thing. This too shall pass. Been there.

You're an idiot…and you're going to live with that reality for far more than 4 more years. Enjoy!

My gut feeling is he will be impeached
I think he has done enough to warrnt it
Between Benghazi, and the Fast & Furiuous there is a smoking gun, there is someone with lose lips

Re: LaurenAshley – I hear you, have been laid off for almost 3 years now. No one is hiring and my skills are a bit specialized in the telecom industry. Have not even looked for work since July 2012 when my UI ran out. Hope things pick up for you and your family, I am living off my late husband's SS and starting to dip into my IRA.

I would also like to see him introduce a bill to fine corporations for every job they send overseas, let's start at $10,000 although $100,000 would be better. Think I will write my Congresswoman about this tomorrow.

I am afraid of what will happen these next four years and the years following his departure from presidency. Even the "Obama phone" lady is waking up to the lies told and what he has NOT done for this country and all the promises he made and did not come close to following. I never voted for him but when he was first elected I had hopes that he would do at least SOME of the things he claimed (lied) that he would do… such a pity. We can only pray for impeachment now before more damage is done.

And so the downfall of our Country continues!

Yeah, sure, everything that's wrong in your lives is ALL Obama's fault…
    Retarded Americans…

Re: teeter totter – OH. you mean the IRAs thst Oholyone has "borrowed" trillions from? OUR HARD EARNED MONEY he just tapped into and helped himself? Yes. THAT one. The one the media somehow barely reported on along with so many other shady and corrupt things this admin has been doing. Benghazi is the TIP of things.

  27. 27

The reason why people came to America from Europe, like the Pilgrims, was that taxes were too high, they were restricted in religion and they felt like government was playing too large of a role in their life. Under Obama, the payroll tax just took more money out of our paychecks, a company like Hobby Lobby is being forced to provide birth control against their religious wishes and the government is taking away more gun rights, regardless of where you agree or disagree. The only good thing about today is that it is the start of the end. We have a partisan leader who doesn't work with the other side and believes we should tax more.

It’s a shame people fell for his empty words . . . again. Now we have another four years to endure a power-hungry, egomaniac with false promises and questionable actions. God bless us all.

  29. 29

Re: whatupperez1 – Taxes are the lowest they have been in over 60 years thats a fact. in 2009 congress voted to give a temp. social security tax holiday by reducing the rate from 6.2 to 4.2% .that was not extended in the recent 'fiscal cliff' deal. If you want to blame someone for that blame congress and their 9% approval rating :/
In this country we live under the constitution which clearly states a separation of church and state. YOUR religious views are irrelevant to the law of the land and are not to be imposed on the rest of us. and nobody is taking away anyones 2nd amendment rights which btw allows plenty of room to regulate weapons. how does your church feel about unchecked paranoid angry people running around with assault rifles and huge clips designed solely for military combat and about murdered school children? (rhetorical)
when did the 'NO we're blocking everything' party ever try and compromise with the president? In attempt make his 1st term a failure, they've obstructed everything-the AJA, Veterans jobs act, healthcare for 911 first responders, the list goes on and on and on. they have gone so far as to sabatage the US economy to harm PBO and it backfired on them hence his reelection. like you they seem to hate the president more than they love their country.
you teabaggers really need to watch something other than fox 'news' once in a while and get a grip on reality

Oooh, look at all the right wing haters! If you didn't think Obama would do a good job why didn't you run a worthy candidate? Romney?! HILARIOUS! Y'all REALLY expected us to vote the that douche who wouldn't even tell you what his policies were?! Soooooooooooo glad you half wits lost. Ya got nothing but bile and racism and stupidity on your side. Thank you, President Obama!

  32. galileosstar says – reply to this

Re: bgbreakdown – Is that really the only card you liberals have to play? Racism is all you have? Just because someone doesn't agree with this mans policies and PLEASE educate yourself on Benghazi and the Fast and Furious for just a HUGE part of the problem with him STILL being in office. If ANY of those things had happened on anyone else watch the media would have crucified them and they would have been kicked out of office asap. Educate yourself so you have more to run on than the racism card.
