As the walls of Briarcliff slowly crumble down (only one more episode of Asylum left), the mystery of Season 3 creeps up on us more and more.

Will American Horror Story's modern romance live up to the last two seasons? Will it surpass them both?? Will there be sexy eye candy for us to drool over!?!

SO MANY QUESTIONS!

But Ryan Murphy delivers some solace, revealing more about the third installment of his FX love child, saying the season will dive back into the past from time to time… but that it's also going to take place in MULTIPLE CITIES!

OoOoOoOo

With Season 2 as dark and decrepit as cable television will allow, Ryan promises the next chapter will be lighter and more comedic with a whimsical romantic tone.

Oh and ladies, are you listenin?? You're gonna LOVE this next part.

He touched on it a little bit this season but #3 is gonna be all about GURL POWER. Hell, even if the central monster's gonna be a woman! Hot damn!

BUT HALT!

Before we become too gleeful about next year's possibilities, Ryan also addressed on-screen violence in light of the recent mass shootings, saying:

"It's certainly something I am thinking about. I do feel that if you’re going to tell a story with a gun, take a step back and think about it. I think we will talk about it even more now. I know I will."

Bravo, Ryan! Bra-Vo!

It takes a lot of guts to step up to the challenge of finding provocative ways to entertain without offending people. And even though nobody will ever be able to please everyone, there is a way to broaden the horizons by keeping the greater good in mind.

I love this show, glee and the new normal but this guy is a douche! he already did a school shooting storyline in season 1 with tate.

I really hope season 3 doesn't suck. Lighter and more comedic? Please, no. Season 2 has been a thousand times better than season 1, and if it goes back to lighter, in my opinion, it won't be as good. But as long as Sarah Paulson has a big role, I'm all for it.

True. However, he didn't touch up upon the social and controversial issues of public/mass shootings. Ryan Murphy is all about social commentary. The shooting in Season 1 almost had no social commentary to it at all.

I have confidence that a gun-plotline in Season 3 will be handled well by Murphy and the AHS team, especially now that the guy who directed Spilt Milk, Anne Frank Pt. 2, and the finale will serve as producer and likely direct every third episode.

    :)

Crazy people who would kill in mass shootings, or just kill with a gun didn't get the idea to do something horrible from TV, the media sensationalizes these tragedies so if anyone takes it upon themselves to commit senseless violence, they were already that person. Normal people miss the tell tale signs of these monsters. But we all must be vigilant in working to identify nutbags and stopping them if it is possible. As in the recent school shooing and shootings like Columbine, the crazy lunatics kill the only people close enough to stop them just before they commit mass murder. It is a cop out to blame everyone else when no one takes responsibility, because the cowards always kill themselves to avoid facing justice for there crimes against innocent people.

    Re: Kim
studies would indicate that sensationalising such horrific crimes in the media, to the extent that we often do, really does make people more likely to copycat them. It's not a validation, or an excuse, just a reason. There will always be dangerously crazy people and the thought of infamy gives certain terribly lost people a good reason to do certain things.
