Alicia Keys On Beyoncé’s Lip Synching: Yay Or Nay??

From one incredible singer to another, we’re just dying to know what Alicia Keys is thinking!

And boy does she let it be known when finally talking about Beyoncé’s lip synching drama in regard to her still totes powerful National Anthem performance for President Barack Obama’s inauguration.

Ch-ch-check out Alicia’s no holds barred comments (above)!

And remember, Alicia will be singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl!

Yes, the very same Super Bowl where Bey is performing the half-time show!

Will Alicia try to top Beyoncé's National Anthem? Will both ladiez go live? Or will Alicia lip synch to make Bey feel better?

We’ve never been so ridiculously pumped for the Super Bowl!!

Yes, I agree Beyonce did deliver that song beautifully and there is no doubt about that, but no one likes to be tricked or as some would say "have the wool pulled over their eyes". It's fine if she didn't want to sing it for whatever reason live but it's the trickery of trying to make everyone think she was singing live that gets to me. I would have just as soon to heard the music play and looked at the flag or something and had her stand there as to try to be made believe she was singing it. If Alicia really sings this song, I don't care how many notes she doesn't hit or how many times her voice might break, it will be better because it's more personal and in the moment than a prerecorded version. Just no tricks please.

You see there is always some form of "trickery" in show business. We know she can sing and can sing live. Too many other celebrities, including Alicia Keys have commented on her ability for us to forget that. However, we also need to recognize that it was her voice singing with her own pre-recorded track. I'm not seeing that as being "fooled". Fooled is when someone pretends to be able to sing (millie vanillie) and actually moves their lips to someone else's voice. I also think it's naive to think that people won't care if the artist screws up or misses notes. We've seen the criticism when they mess up the words.
