Live OR lip synched

We will EXPLODE if Beyoncé ends up shaking her enviable ass on that Oscars stage come February 24th!

The Academy announced today that during this year's Oscars they plan on setting up an extravaganza, honoring the best musical movies of the past decade which MAY include live performances from the film casts of Chicago, Dreamgirls and Les Misérables!!!

A spokesperson revealed:

"The musical as a motion picture genre has had a remarkable renaissance in the last decade. We are excited to showcase three musical films—‘Chicago,’ ‘Dreamgirls’ and ‘Les Misérables’— on our Oscar show."

We had already heard that the Les Mis actors might be hitting the Oscars stage, but THIS sounds even MORE incredible!

Reminisce with us and watch Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, and the cast of Dreamgirls perform a medley of tunes from their 2007 Oscars spectacle (above)!

Dayuuum a musical event AND a potential James Bond orgy featuring Adele?!

The 85th Academy Awards may be the best Oscars yet!

She will lip suck it err synch it. Doesn't matter, she made her name by the outfits and shaking her ass. In her name, I will head to any strip club to find someone doing the same thing

Re: byte me – So true. This is the Oscars - Jennifer Hudson proved she can out act and out sing Beyonce - so why would they bother with Beyonce?

  3. 3

Hopefully they won't let her sing excerpts from the Motorcycle Diaries again.. that was excruciating in 2005.

OH STFU! Is it her voice? YES. Was she singing live with the track? YES. Is she the only big name artist who has done this? NO! Move on. Beyonce will always be hot. She will always be on top. She isn't f*cking Milli Vanilli so let it go.

So much so, that when the composer actually won the Oscar, he came up in the microphone and felt the need to sing the song again, so that the audience would actually know what it sounded like. It was truly pityful.

She is paid a lot of money to perform live. Sing live or not do to weather/ a cold/ etc. Do not act like you did.

I'm actually thinking more along the lines of Anne Hathaway manically calling the Oscar peeps in charge and trying to bargain for the best spot in the show for her les mis song. "seriously I'll put in extension and cut my hair off on stage."
"Not enough huh? Well I'm not pulling out my real teeth unless you guarantee me that Oscar"

Love it. She will do a great job. Jennifer Hudson is good but I would rather see / hear Beyonce any day. Imo, Jennifer doesn't have the "it" factor but she is solid. I agree with Trinigirl. She sang to her own track — get over it. It was still her voice (x2) and still the best version of that song that I've heard. Yes, that included Aretha Franklin from 4 years ago… FYI - no one gets their normal fee (if anything) for performing at an innauguration.

Re: OhPlease – If Beyonce didn't get her normal fee for the inauguration (or any fee at all), I guess that's why she couldn't be bothered to rehearse with the band. And you would prefer to see Beyonce over Jennifer Hudson? It is sad that we have become so superficial.

How much did Beyonce's peep's pay for this?

Re: rosebud99 – Actually she did show up early to rehearse. The band was unavailable. Given the effort she put into fundraising for him I doubt that "being bothered" was the issue. FYI - How do you know that JH doesn't lip sync or has not??? Perhaps she hasn't been caught yet. I didn't say she couldn't sing but I do not enjoy her music or her version of songs as much as I do Beyonce's. Whitney Houston lip synched her version of the anthem at the Super Bowl. Are we supposed to take that a singnal that she really couldn't sing at all? She faultered due to drugs but when she sang at the SB it was before her fall. The point is that people are making wild assumptions and generalizations and have nothing to back it up whatsoever.

Re: OhPlease – I see your point, and I totally get that lip-synching is about as wide spread in music as drug use in sports, but I in my opinion I find artists like Beyonce to be more production than talent. I find that looks and glamour are way more important today than actual talent.

How do we know she will really sing it? Im guessing she has always lipsinged, and finally just now got caught.

Re: rosebud99 – Personally I like to listen to her ballads and her up tempos get me in the mood to start my day. If I am going to go to a concert the person has to entertain me and do more than just sing. For just singing I can listen to my stereo. I love George Benson (guitar) but he had absolutely NO production for his concert. He sounded great but that is $$ I'll never see again. He sat on a stool and played! I loved Beyonce's performance at the Wynn. It was a venue that really showcased both her showmanship and vocal ability. To each her/his own but I think she has both the voice and the attention to detail and production to last in the industry. I just don't think one event defines any artist with real talent.

Why does the Academy always put so much emphasis on music? I seriously have not seen a good musical movie since Chicago and that was more drama than musical. If they would drop a lot of the music they could spend more time on the regular show.

stay home and listen to ur stereo how is her being there live different if shes bloody lip synching sickening stuff and at the oscarsssssss!!!!!!!! good god no please dont let her near the stage just blast her voice from the sides lip synching is no different than playing the stereo …why bother being there at all

I am so sick of her. Please retire and raise your daughter or pay the same lady who carried Blue and get another to keep you busy.
