Atlanta School Shooting: 14-Year-Old Shot In Head, Teacher Wounded, Suspect In Custody

Another unthinkable tragedy.

A 14 year-old boy was shot at Price Middle School in Atlanta this afternoon when a gunman opened fire for reasons currently unknown. Police arrested the suspect, who is another student, at the scene.

Mercifully, the unnamed young victim was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors found him "alert, conscious and breathing."

One teacher also suffered minor wounds as commotion spread across the school and the campus was eventually put on lockdown.

We don't know where the alleged shooter got his or her gun, nor whom he or she planned to shoot.

We only know a 14-year-old-boy went to school today hoping to fill his brain with knowledge. Instead, someone put a bullet in his head.

Something must be done to protect our country's youth. It's unfathomable so many school children have access to guns.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by these senseless tragedies.

Just think, another shooting gun control wouldn't have stopped.

Re: MizzBooBoo – How would gun control prevent the shooting? The kid shouldn't have had it in the first place. It's like Sandy Hook, he stole the guns. Gun Control wouldn't have done anything.

Looks like his school Psycho-Wacko prescribed meds kicked-in and are working AS DESIGNED….

Re: thebigboot – But, maybe the parents wouldnt of had the guns to pinch them from in the first place ^^

    Bit of a lame argument.

Perez, really???? check the facts before you rush to sensationalize the story. Kid was grazed by a bullet in the back of his neck, it happened outside the school and the shooter was apprehended by the Off Duty officer at the school. The bigger issue here is how the Police and School handled the situation. Follow up on that….

Wow bias much. the suspect was apprehended by a hired off duty officer who was able to curtail the situation before it was worse. Please leave the big stories to the people with a degree who actually know how to report accurately before spreading your firm view on a situation. instead you are forcing people to believe in your anti 2nd amendment stance! how about commending the courageous man that was able to stop a massacre. he's a hero. instead you are trying to make people believe new laws are the answer. you know the laws that will only restrict LAW ABIDING citizens access to their RIGHTS!!

Re: BoBiiFly – Actually, we have a ban on semi-automatic and automatic rifles after the Port Arthur massacre in 1996.

Notice how we don't have mass shootings these days?

Can't believe you people (kb and DSM) are actually trying to down play and justify this!!! Whatever the consequences it is just another American shooting. Truth be told your country and it's politics driven by the CIA are completely demented. Being from Australia despite what the media tries to portray most Australians are completely ashamed to be aligned with your country. If you only realised just what the rest of the world actually thought about your complete head in the sand ignorance you would be embarrassed to call yourselves American.

That's way too close to home, especially when I live three hours away. This is getting way to out of hand.

Re: BoBiiFly – Umm actually, last time I checked, Australia outlawed large ammo clips and assault weapons; Britain has as well.

Scary situation here tonight, in a working class suburb of LA. An hour or so ago police helicopters were circling overhead and in a few blocks radius, my next door neighbor and her sister had cone back from a walk and saw a guy with a gun. The police told them where to walk. They knocked on my door and told me to lock it (deadbolt doe not work, called the manager tonight, he will be over tomorrow to fix it). Glad I have a handgun if someone breaks in, cause I am a widow who lives alone.

These black monkeys in poor ghettos account for the majority of our gun crime. Literally, let's send the national guard into these dominantly black neighborhoods, turn them into police states, round up all the guns and you'll see our overall crime drop at least 50%.

And then lets send them to your neighborhood and kill all the white folks.
