American Idol Contestant & Military Vet Confesses To Fraud During Auditioning Process!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooAmerican Idol

Oh boy!

When Matt Farmer auditioned with his little girl on American Idol, we were touched (watch above)!

He went on and one about coming into contact with an exploding IED in Iraq, one that he claimed left him with traumatic brain injury.

But when his war brothers saw him on television, they came forward with statements to denounce his claims as disgraceful bullshizz!

Feeling the pressure, he admitted:

"It was ALL lies. I in fact HAVE lied since a younger age and had a problem with it. I am coming out and making a statement (even though I was instructed not to) because I DO want to come clean. I was told to keep quiet and not talk to anyone, and I have decided that what’s best for me and my family is to come out and end the insanity. I indeed have many many things to work with and need to get a lot of help doing it. Again I apologize to everyone that I have come across and hurt or lied too. I am EXTREMELY remorseful and VERY upset that I allowed myself to take from the hard work of the guys that I was deployed with among others. To think that I would go on a national TV show and get away with continuing a lie so big, and so deeply imbedded in my life and brain …is ridiculous."

Oh wow. That's gotta be rough.

We definitely don't condone the fraud, especially when it cost someone else a ticket to Hollywood, but it sounds like his conscious is punishing him enough as it is!

Hopefully he can look into some therapy that would help him with his pathological lying!

I don't watch the show, but how is this lie fraud? Fraud entails deception for the purpose of getting something in return. If this is a real contest based on talent alone, then what did he gain other than sympathy? That isn't fraud.

It's gross. The show loves a good story and sells the contestants to the public with them. For someone to lie is pathetic but being that he lied about an honorable thing like military injuries is beyond gross.

Yes he lied, but he released a statement apologizing and admitting he has a problem. Lets not beat him when he is down people. Yes lieing about the military is bad but what is important is that this guy gets some help! I think it speaks volumes when someone apologizes for what they did and gets the help for it.

Re: Bubble – Bubble are you too stupid to realize that you blatantly contradicted yourself in your 3 line post. "For the purpose of getting something in return", "what did he gain other than sympathy"….Uh gaining sympathy is something beneficial in return you idiot. And yes sympathy does matter in competitions that are judged, especially in early rounds like this….REGARLDLESS his voice was AWFUL

Awww, now his daughter can look back and think… "My daddy was a compulsive liar who exploited me when I was a little innocent girl."

In his defense, he is a guy, therefore prone to habitual lying.

    @steviebeatie

Legally, sympathy has no monetary value, you moron. Therefore, it's not fraud.

Isn't this a singing competition? His 'story' shouldn't have to factoring at all. I wouldn't be surprised if there were dozens of other contestants with fake stories

Re: Bubble – LOOK UP THE DEFINITION OF FRAUD YOU RETARD! Where does it say it has to be for monetary benefits? Oh right, it doesn't! Sympathy can be an example of "personal gain" which is also a motive for FRAUD! Buy a fucking dictionary dumbass

Maybe he should become an actor? However, though he might have a problem with compulsive lying, he is dumb to try it on national tv when he knows he will promptly be called out by those who know him in the military. Did he think nobody would reveal his lies? And yeah, his daughter… to be used like that…
