The Ricki Lake Show Canceled After One Season On Air!

ricki lake show cancelled

Aw! And we were so happy to have Ricki Lake back on our TVs!

After just one season, Twentieth Television has decided to pull the plug on the newly-revived Ricki Lake Show!

Ricki became a talk show staple in 1993, when she hosted Ricki Lake until 2004, when she stepped down to take a break from it all!

Mz. Lake then recently returned with her latest show, The Ricki Lake Show, in September of 2012, though it wasn’t enough to “break through the crowded talk show marketplace.”

Ricki stated:

"I am so proud of the shows we completed this season, sparking important conversations about everything from raising children to mental illness to suicide prevention to coming out.

I will continue to be an active and passionate voice for subjects that are close to my heart through a variety of platforms — and a return to my documentary filmmaking work with Abby Epstein.”

We guess the talk show landscape is definitely way more different than it was a decade ago!

We wish Ricki the best in her future projects and can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

Went down in flames just like that beach house she rented………

Her show was boring. It was not the same as the old Ricky Lake Show.

  3. 3

Because she's a slimeball without morals. Was cuter when she was 20.

  4. 4

I never got to see it. It was on when I was on my way to work.

Sorry never saw it and did not know what channel it was on, but then I do not watch a lot of TV anyway. Sorry her show was cancelled. Wish her the best

Actually—I Love Ricki…and Anderson Cooper (who is getting 'canned' too). The rating system the networks depend on are not reliable !! ABC lost tons of viewers when they dropped "All My Children", & "One Life to Live". The "reason given" was that the numbers were down—-they polled ONLY females between 18-49 years old. The age bracket that is most likely either WORKING…. or shuttling kids from school to soccer, ballet, or piano !! Not the people with "real buying power"….. retired, or self employed. ABC = A Boring Company !!

She spoke the TRUTH. she put on a show about cannabis and its ability to kill cancer cells. so they shut her down. thats what i believe. and i'm sticking to it. get educated. let the world know

No one knew she had a talk show and when I recently found out I was excited about watching, found it quite boring nothing like the original Ricki Lake!
