There IS justice in the world!!!
While Hawaii is known as a destination for relaxation and privacy, so many celebrities have been mobbed by the paparazzi recently that the Hawaiian government has enacted the Steven Tyler Act to protect them from the wicked photogs!
Why name the act after the former American Idol judge?
The Aerosmith rocker is just one victim of unflattering vacation photos when he let it ALL hang out on Maui's beach.
The state senator, J. Kalani English, explained:
"I have a lot of public figures who live here and this has been something that’s been on the plate for a while. Steven stepped forward and said, ‘I can be the face of it.’ ”
"It" couple, Cory Monteith and Lea Michele, are another knot in the string of exploited vacationers when the papz followed the Glee couple on a romantic, extraordinarily remote hike.
The act, if enacted, promises to hold those who capture or intend to capture celebrities on film guilty of invasion of privacy in hopes that it will boost celeb traffic to the islands.
If the right to privacy is violated than the perpetrator would be subject to special damages, general damages, and punitive damages. OUCH.
We're not going to lie and say we DON'T love seeing those super private moments, but if Finnchel and Steven are happy than we're happy too!!!
