Quvenzhane Wallis To Replace Willow Smith In Annie Remake???!

Quvenzhane Wallis is on a roll!!!

Not only is the 9-year-old the youngest-ever Best Actress Oscar nominee, but she is now in talks to star in the remake of Annie.

Doesn't sound like a hard-knock life to us!

While producers Will Smith, Jay-Z, and Jada Pinkett-Smith have yet to make any absolute casting decisions, it is a BIG possibility that Quzanhane could be replacing Willow Smith after the Hollywood royal decided she would rather "just be 12" following her tour for Whip My Hair.

Well, the Beasts of the Southern Wild star definitely has the acting chops for it!

Looks like for Quvenzhane, the sun WILL come out tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow!

Oh fucking please! Annie is white w/ red hair, always has been. Lets stop with this rewriting history PC bullshit already.

Re: Jayyy – Annie is not history - it is fiction. I really don't think the ethnicity matters - it is the story that counts. I am happy that Willow is not doing it. Good for her if that whole 'I just want to be 12' thing is real - because the nepotism was really off-putting.

    Scabby legs.

yes we dont need PC version with a little black girl. Just write another damn story instead of doing some ghetto version of a beloved story. Annie has a distinctive image of curly red hair if you cant respect that basic premise then fck off and write your own film. How would black people feel if a famous well loved black character was suddenly white?

of course, there'd be an outcry.

Re: rosebud99 – I think that someone just adviced her on that. Im pretty sure she wanted to keep going or more like "keep being pushed to".

Re: rosebud99 – I can understand your point of view but its not their story and one has to be true to the scenary, characters and etc. of what was written by the author. The authors put a lot of thought in their characters, not only the way they think, behave but also the looks.
I still remember when they made the Wizard of Oz with black people and even when I enjoyed the story it just felt off from the beggining.

Re: bleahf – This reminds of the current fuss about a Publisher's sexy makeover of Anne of Green Gables. From the Globe: 'No, Canada’s most loveable freckled redhead has not dyed her hair, got a boob job and moved to the Jersey Shore. It just looks that way on Amazon.com, where an enterprising but misguided new publisher has enraged readers with a $13.49 set of L.M. Montgomery’s beloved Anne of Green Gables novels adorned with a cover image of a bleached-blond farm girl signalling “come hither” on a haystack.'
Anne being a redhead is a critical and integral part of the Lucy Maud Montgomery books…but you should SEE the publisher's photo. Lol.

    Re: Lasqueesha

uh…Sat night live used a white comedian to play Barack Obama..

and you are the one that is ghetto…AND Will Smith, and Jada Pinkett are black and producing the film so they can put all the black children they want in the film just like most movies are made with white actors/actresses.

thats like remaking Fresh Prince of bel air with a white guy playing will

Re: kim – you're not seriously comparing a comedy sketch on SNL? what a dumbass. Obama is a real person and he's actually HALF WHITE so he has as much right to be played by a white man as he does by a black man. and of course most films have majority white because 72% of america is white! only 13% are black. Continue being stupid..
