Considering the circumstances surrounding last year's show, it's understandable!

Despite it being Justin Timberlake's highly anticipated return to the Grammys stage and CRAZY collaboration performances including an Elton John & Ed Sheeran duet and a Rihanna/Sting/Bruno Mars tribute to Bob Marley

The 55th Grammy awards were DOWN 27% in ratings compared to last year's somber event, which took place the DAY after Whitney Houston's tragic death. The 54th Annual Grammys drew in almost 39 million viewers.

Yep, even Carrie Underwood's reality defying virtual gown couldn't secure more viewers than last year's show.

BUT it's not ALL bad news!

The Grammys DID manage to score the TOP ratings Sunday night, garnering 28.1 million viewers!!!

Wooo hooo!

Not too shabby, CBS!

Sorry for Carrie Underwood's dress was tacky. There was nothing awesome or totally creative about it. I wondered why she was standing their like maniquin the entire time and then they started with the projections on her dress. Yeah really cool….not.

Loved Carrie's set. I especially love seeing Sting, Riri And Bruno Mars set with a tribute
to Bob Marley! Now that was cool!
