Oprah, who has made such an issue about Lance Armstrong and James Frey cheating - has no problem with Beyonce cheating when singing the national anthem. Why the double standard? I guess there is more money to be made being Beyonce's friend than in criticizing her.

So now that he's not friends with Goo Goo Gaga he's worshipping BeYAWNCE. That woman is so full of herself and not hating but her songs have no substance and won't stand the test of time, Fact! Didn't Perez used to hate her and call her Beowolf??!! He jumped that bandwagon.

The national anthem is not an issue for most people. Most people recognize that there are performances that singers lip sync. Most accept that other innaugural performances were lip synched or mimed and don't care. The purpose of the innauguration is to install the new President and Vice President. Given that the entire televised event was unnecessary in that the official swearing in for both took place the day before. Personally I don't see it as "cheating". She gave her explanation (wanted it to be perfect) so that closes the issue (that never was in my opinion). There is no law that says that the song cannot be recorded. There is no "standard" in place. The Military was there when the recording was made and requested that it be made in case conditions didn't allow for a live performance. She determined that the conditions were not suitable and given the lack of practice time she chose to sing along with the recording - so what? Why would anyone care if the military, White House, etc don't care? With all that is happening in the world and the time they are wasting on filibusters I think we have more important things to be annoyed at.
