Mariah Carey Brings It Almost Home In Oz The Great & Powerful Theme Song! Listen In Full HERE!

WOW.

We certainly didn't anticipate THIS would be the direction Mariah Carey would take when we first got a sneak peek of her single for the Oz The Great & Powerful soundtrack over the weekend!

In fact, we weren't even sure that it was ACTUALLY HER when we started listening to the full version!

But yes, Almost Home has arrived in its glorious entirety, and even if the diva sounds as though she's singing the first portion of the song while floating through the high altitudes far above the ground in the title character's hot air ballon, this is DEFINITELY one you should stick with all the way through!

The runs at the end are OUT OF CONTROL…and CLASSIC Mimi!

Believe us! It's a grower, folks!

    Mariah has amazing talent, so it's too bad she used autotune and enhancers. It gave a fake feeling to her voice. The song was ok - nothing you'd listen to on its own, but it's perfect as a backdrop to a fantasy movie like Oz.

    It's disappoitning. Lyrically, musically - this song is empty. Mariah lost control of her vocalization, which seems to be placed wrong. Her voice sounds unnatural, almost bionic (too much auto-tune). Its too poppy. She forgot that she used to be an artist.

    I really like the beats she's using in the song which I think is new for her.

    Even though her voice may (to some) sound auto tune, the fact is she CAN sing every note live. She will sing this song live better than the studio version, like some of her other songs. And there should be a live version released too…

    For non-"lambs", Mariah can single a word twice and create an echo effect live which she has done a number of times. Her higher octaves switches with so much ease, especially since the holidays.

    This is definitely not a grower. Mariah needs to lose the autotune and the beat is so generic it could be any other edm music out there. No originality at all.

    People need to learn what autotune is. Autotune is what T Pain uses; what Lil Wayne uses; what Mariah used on Obsessed… You can quite clearly hear the robotic effect of it. Autotune has not been used here, however she has modified the runs. Her runs were never that slick and they certainly aren't now (just look at her abysmal live performances). her vanity was the death of her voice. From her first nose job to her last, it has effectively ruined her beautiful talent. She sounds so nasally now. And the song is boring. Not terrible, but certainly not great. Ill be surprised if it even charts.

    #AlmostHome is the catchest song she has released in years and her voice is sounding better then ever. I love how her voice actually outshines the effects on it which show they are just there for the feel of the track. Everyone I know is loving and buzzing about this song it's without a doubt her 19th #1.

The days of Mariah's best work are behind her, when she used to put real effort and artistry into her music e.g. the Butterfly album. This song is too poppy, and is pretty much is her following trends again. The song lacks the soul and depth of songs like My All. All the little "Mimi" fans are gonna say they love it though. They would still love it if she put out a song composed entirely of farts, so whatever.

    One of the most beautiful, pure, moving voices of all time. Every time I hear her, she gives me goosebumps and makes me cry. The song itself is a little short and seems to lack something, but it's much better than "Triumphant". I think this may reinvent her as "We Belong Together" did: in both songs, she's using contemporary/radio-friendly beats of the moment, whilst still being undeniably "MC"!

    This is gonna be a smash hit all over the radio coz it's a promotional song for OZ the Great and Powerful Movie that will be an advantage…In addition to that this is not hiphop/r&b so its a radio friendly coz its a full POP..she uses her midrange falsetto (if I am not mistaken) This will be playing at end part of the movie for sure "end Credit"

    I love the way Mariah invent her style and do different style every album..so thats why mimi has a full of haters. they cant copy mimi or duplicate her :) thats why I admire her since 1990 ..I grew up her music and shes my music to my ear.     It's a Disney song for crying out loud! The song fits the movie theme perfectly and Mariah's voice is certainly spot on. The ending brings you home, for sure. It's not a CLASSIC Mariah of the 90s type of song. It's a pop song for a Disney move, it fits well.

    I wish people would stop complaining about her using autotune. Her voice doesn't sound robotic at all on this track, the effects they used is to fit the instrumental, which brings some electronic effects at the bridge.

    It's a grower and the end is what all the "oh, how I want the old Mariah back" fans want it, so just sit back, enjoy it and you can picture yourself being brought home after this. Congrats, Mariah for another great pop jam!

    This is GREAT. Absolutely great. She's suddenly jumped another skill level here vocally and her game has officially upped. Instead of annoying vocal gymnastics, this is instead interesting as hell to listen to. How did she do that? This is a much better mix than the sample, and her voice isn't buried by instrumentation. Good going, Mariah! Impressed!

    Why are people accusing people of being "Mariah haters" just because they criticize a song by her. I've been a fan of Mariah's since 1997. Fine, this song is for a Disney soundtrack, I respect that. That being said, her debut single, whatever it is, needs to be something soulful, jazzy like she did when she first came out. She looks like a completely different person now, compared to the natural beauty that burst out onto the scene in the early 90's.     if MeMe's "talent" was sooo amazing she wouldn't need filters, autotune and enhancers-get it!!! MeMe is a Sony studio creation and has been lip syncing any so called live performance since she was married to Tommy-she is a fraud and this totally generic rerun has been song is just a back ground filler for a movie-it's not a single or something anyone would ever listen to unless they watch the flick-and she is screwing that up for me as well-if this is any indication then the sound track to Oz is boring-boring and aparently the visual effects are the main attraction-it certainly isn't this boring reject of a lamo song

At first I didn´t even recognize Mariah, but that has nothing to do with autotune it has to do with the fact that she is singing differently, she explored another of the many textures of her voice! I simply love the song, it was beautifully written, very well produced and her vocals here sound as strong and spot on as they did in the 90s and mid 2000's. I must have played this song over 100 times today! This had everything to be a chart topper! LUUUUUV it!
