Ugh! Say it ain't so!

Chace Crawford let the world know that he'd LOVE playing the divinely domineering Christian Grey in a seXXXy feature adaptation of best-seller 50 Shades of Grey!

Unfortunately, he's an ah-mazingly adorable actor and not a casting director.

According to someone close to the film, the Gossip Girl demi-God might as well audition for the role of Anastasia because there's NO WAY he's playing Christian!

E.L. James has a heavy hand in casting choices and we guess she isn't a fan, because the source admitted:

"Casting wouldn’t look at him as a first, second or even third choice."

Aww. Oh well!

We will gladly settle for Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder, or Alexander Skarsgard, LOLz!

it's funny that she's like alienating everyone in hollywood. Although, i did read somewhere that a fan shoved pictures of Chris Evans and Jensen Ackles and she thought they were beautiful. But it's like..dude everyone you see and like are really old for the part. Or that's what i've gleaned off of different stories because i'd never read the books.

I agree with her.

The role isn't only based on looks and the right fit physically, the acting, performance and charisma is even more important. As pretty as chace is to look at he is a very dull & expressionless actor. Have you seen him on GG?!

I hope the role goes to Ian Somerhalder. Wonderful actor and completely looks the part, SO sexy. He's read the books and expressed interest in the part from the start. No other actor would be as good a fit.

Chase would be a pefect pick for thre role. Dont get me wrong the others are nice to look at too.. but chase seems to fit better. The other guys are a little to old for the part i think. They are in their mid 30 's. Chase is 27 he is at the right age and he so fits the description the best. Just look at him.

It's not fair to say Chace "can't act" just because of the crappy storyline and poor character development in Gossip Girl. Seriously, what can u do if your character is supposed to look confused, confused, and confused all the time? Nothing.

I think Chace can handle an evil character so well if they give him a chance!
