OOooo snap son!

Or rather, DON'T snap son when you are an audience member of a Broadway play starring Matthew Broderick!

The performer reportedly BROKE the fourth wall during last Friday's showing of Nice Work If You Can Get It when an attendee began FILMING the spectacle with their video-phone!

One onlooker recalls:

"Broderick broke character to tell someone in the front row to stop filming him… [he said] he will not tolerate people filming or shooting pictures."

BUT according to a rep, the incident didn't escalate because the person STOPPED their voyeuristic actions once Matthew publicly chastised them.

Crisis averted!

Ch-ch-check out some pics — NOT taken from inside the theater (HA!) — of Matthew (below)!

I'm glad, because I'm tired of these people who are told NO FILMING and they shamelessly continue with their fucking iphones. I applaud you Matthew!!

Ugh. I can't stand it when actors break character on stage–whether it's laughing or shaming an audience member. Then it ruins it for the ENTIRE audience. Dude, be a professional and let the ushers deal with it…cause..you know…you're being paid to BE a professional.

It's so jarring when an actor breaks character. It's not Broderick's job to tell a audience member to quick being rude.

Well that's all fine and dandy, IF the ushers deal with it. I for one am tired of douchebags not turning their phones off during shows…

Re: pollopicu – Thanks I agree. Was at a movie theater once when someone did not turn off their cellphone and it rang during the movie. The idiot picked up his phone and started to talk, we all started booing him and one person got an usher to escort him out to the lobby. Some people just have no common sense or courtesy.

So unprofessional. Broderick should be ashamed of himself. I wouldn't be surprised if they replace him very soon after that little stunt. It is not appreciated in theater.
