Yeesh!

She might be able to write the list of groceries she needs during trips to the super market, but it appears that when Britney Spears does, in fact, begin her still-undetermined Las Vegas residency soon, that will be the only place she's allowed to spend any of her hard-earned money!

At least, with her explicit discretion, anyway!

Even though the pop sensation has released two albums, embarked on two world tours, and presided as a judge on last season of The X Factor since her 2008 meltdown, she still has conservators in place to help manage her financial affairs!

And according to sources close to the contract negotiations for her Sin City stint, Britney is facing a series of stringent rules once she hits the strip!

Insiders elaborate:

“Britney’s absolutely not allowed to gamble. She can’t bring anyone back to her suite at the casino. She has limits as to what she can spend. For anything more than that, she needs special permission — so there will be no impulse shopping. [Britney] has to have a handler or security with her at all times. She even has a curfew. They really are going to be monitoring her behavior and moods to make sure she is feeling okay and ready for the hard hours of work she needs to put in each night.”

All right, so we understand her management's concerns…but SERIOUSLY?!

This would even be EXCESSIVE for an 18-year-old, let alone an adult, multi-millionaire with two children of her own!

She has come such a long way in a very short period of time, and we fear that this kind of hyper-controlling, excessively-managed constraints are only going to hinder her continued growth and recovery!

What else does she possibly need to do to re-gain her freedom?!

You guys gotta' loosen the leash at some point!

What do U think?? Does Brit Brit deserve a break?

It is that leash that has kept her stable.

That's bullshit for one simple reason: SHE'S RICH.
Britney has more money than she can ever spend. People that develop a gambling addiction are after money, what makes them addicted is that tiny chance of getting loads of cash. Britney isn't like that, because she doesn't need an extra million dollar, that wouldn't make a difference to her bank account balance.

The woman might have problems, but that's just not going to be one.

If she needs all that to stay stable, doing a Vegas residency is probably not the wisest thing.

Perez. I have been a loyal viewer since 2006. Kept up with you a couple time a day. I love your stuff and I think you've really created something cool. But for the first time I am writing a comment. You are always preaching equality of the sexes, a world free of racism and hate. Why, then, do you insist on picking on those with mental health issues? It is clear (you have even mentioned in posts) that Britney Spears has serious mental health issues. Her entire team works to make sure that despite her illness she can deliver an amazing show. As someone who has been battling mental illness for years she is an inspiration. Just like Demi Levato who you preach so much as an inspiration. Please show some respect and be open minded for those with mental health issues. Be the first to bring attention to the issue. You preach about teen suicide right? Where do you think that comes from? Yes some are dealing with bullying and discrimination but many also have mental health issues!

Anyway. I will continue to be a loyal fan… searching for the day you post a great comment on mental health awareness

So as someone who is bipolar (and we are assuming Britney is) that level of supervision, in a place like Vegas, is almost mandatory. If she gets manic, she could spend a ton of money in one night or make really bad choices (anyone remember her first "marriage"?) If she is stable, maybe she doesn't need the restrictions so much, but in a high pressure environment she is bound to have mood break outs. I think we should be grateful she still has a career and a life that isn't in jeopardy from her mental illness. Thank goodness she has such great people around her.

They KNOW her (we don't) for that level of control she is obviously batshit craycray!
This stint is all sorts of wrong! It's her team that gets a % of her income that are greedy and pushing her into this, there will be repercussions.

Britney will be just fine! I think she is much more independent and on her own than the media reports. And either way, I always wish her the best!

Sure, everyone loves to gamble . . . if they win. But, the person sitting next to you in church, the man in line at the grocery store, or one of your co-workers; any one of these could be involved with a gambling problem. Imagine your grandmother committing a crime to support her gambling addiction. I am a recovering alcoholic, gambler, and have recovered from other addictive behaviors. I published a book, Gripped by Gambling, where the readers can follow the destructive path of the compulsive gambler, a prison sentence, and then on to the recovery road.

I recently published a second book, Switching Addictions, describing additional issues that confront the recovering addict. If a person who has an addictive personality, doesn’t admit to at least two addictions, he’s not being honest. Until the underlying issues have been resolved, the person will continue to switch addictions. These are two books you might consider adding to your library. I also publish a free online newsletter, Women Helping Women, which has been on-line for more than twelve years and is read by hundreds of women (and men) from around the world. ( I have been interviewed many times, and appeared on the 60 Minutes show in January 2011, which was moderated by Leslie Stahl.

    Sincerely,

    Marilyn Lancelot
