Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery only pertains to children. Adults who say such things do so because they are void of talent skill and originality. It's actually stealing ones intellectual property. The set designs had a value. I didn't see a comparison but in art imitation is the sincerest form of infringing on ones creation and their rights.
