Mindy McCready’s suicide shocked many, but as details spill out about those days before she took her life, her pain and suffering are becoming more and more obvious.
Mindy had been reaching out to her friend and private investigator Danno Hanks over those last few days, and it started to become clear that she was in a very dark place after losing her boyfriend, David Wilson.
A phone call between Mindy and Danno has been released and reveals how she was struggling to come to terms with her loss.
Mindy even admitted she saw no reason to keep living as she told Danno:
"[The] point of me living is waiting to die so I can be with him."
She also revealed guilt she had been living with ever since her boyfriend's passing as she felt like she should have done something to help him as he suffered from bipolar disorder and substance abuse issues. She said:
"He was so sick Danno … I did everything I could…but I couldn’t be a mom to two children and him at the same time. I was failing miserably … If I had been just a little bit stronger I could have saved him. But I wasn’t. I wasn’t adequate enough."
And even though Danno tried to ease her guilt, she couldn't get past her pain as she eventually admitted:
"It’s on me. It’s all on me."
Mindy was clearly going through a lot with the loss of her boyfriend as well as losing custody of her children along with possible substance abuse issues, but suicide doesn't have to be the answer.
We hope she has now found some peace.
