Actually, I personally don't think Adele sang very well tonight. She is usually way more amazing than that. Either she was nervous or that 15 kg dress was choking her. Either way, not her best performance. Jennifer Hudson stole her thunder.

I agree Smc. I think Adele is just getting recognition because she is popular at the moment. The Band was drowning her out and she lacked enthusiasm. I'm disappointed that Perez is giving her such high praise for someone who is so "in tune" with music. Jennifer Hudson…..THAT was a performance.

I watched her performance with high expectations. however, she was a disappointment. Her voice faded when she needed singing the higher pitches. She seemed nervous, as if she'd never performed to a lot of people before… over all, it was bland, and I was bored.

It's pretty sad that Adele is the only person who didn't get a standing ovation out of all the singers tonight. I know she's better than what she did tonight and I agree with JR that the band drowned her out.

She is such a gorgeous girl and her makeup is always flawless. I just wished she'd wear something different for a change, okay stick with the black but seriously I think we've all seen that dress 10x now. Performance wise, it wasn't that great .. it was quite boring actually.

Yikes Perez…you definitely got this one wrong! Own it… I LOVE her but that was seriously disappointing. J Hud and The gold finger lady were AMAZE!!

I love Adele but I'm sorry this wasn't her best performance. Her voice was kind of shaky and was a bit off key maybe she was nervous or it was because its her first time singing live after having her baby and singing this song. Then music wasn't strong enough. It should of have been louder and stronger like

I'm a huge Adele fan and, yes, that wasn't her best performance (she has crippling stage fright and it seems to be exponentially worse in a show with 1 billion viewers like the Oscars), but even her second best was best of the night. I certainly preferred her soulful introspective rendition of Skyfall than Jennifer Hudson screaming her way through her song. Adele and the legendary (and miraculous sounding for a woman her age) Shirley Bassey were the best singers of the night by far.

J.Hud ruined that song on me! I loved it when she sang it in Dream Girls, I even loved the Remix on the Soundtrack. It shows that J.Hud had to SCREAM her way thru those high notes. SMH. Adele's was more peaceful and those three octaves she hit at the end and that low register as well WHOOOOO GIRL!

I agree. I tried searching on google to see if she had something wrong with her voice because it was so terrible, but to my dismay, everyone gave rave reviews… odd. Makes me wonder if people are being honest when they publish stories/reviews. I love Adele more than any other artist, but that was a terrible performance.
