Anne Hathaway Practiced Oscars Speech Over & Over So That People Wouldn't Be MEAN!

| Filed under: Film FlickersAnne HathawayPerezTVOscars

Ahhh so THAT'S why Anne Hathaway's Best Supporting Actress speech was a lot more restrained than what we've seen this awards season!!

When the Les Misérables actress' name was called during Sunday night's Oscars, we were certain Anne would make us blush with an overly-emotional speech of gratitude like she's done at this year's BAFTAs, SAG awards, and Golden Globes

But instead, she kept her Oscars talk (above) calm, classy — yet still poignant and heartfelt! We were VURRY impressed.

And apparently, that was JUST what Anne was hoping for!

According to an insider, Anne practiced her Oscars acceptance speech over and over, wanting it to be perfect and NOT over the top so that people would LIKE her and not be too critical!

The source shares:

"She was very aware that she had been the butt of everyone's jokes."

Awww Annie!!

Job well done, darling lady!

But we also have adored her previous speeches of the season!

She's bubbled over like a too-full frothy brew every time her name has been announced, which we feel makes for a rather genuine reaction!

Either way, Anne has represented herself supremely well throughout these chaotic events, and deserves every accolade that she's gained!

Brava!

Ch-ch-check out Anne celebrating her Oscar win (below)!

Are you serious? She was so hung up on trying to act intelligent that she sounded like she had a complex about it. At one point she even says "that wasn't articulate", about something that she'd just said. Who cares! Look at Jennifer Lawrence, she probably had a more memorable and enjoyable speech, just by being herself.

Obviously by the 3 posts above me that she's right in getting a little neurotic about how people would judge her. She's just one of those people, that people hate for no apparent reason. There will always be people who are envious of your success or what you have. I don't particularly like Anne Hathaway but in comparison to America tends to worship, she seems like a nice person.

AH is like the smart but awkward and insecure girl that everyone bullied and hated in high school for no apparent reason, and JL is like the blond popular silly girl that everyone wanted to hang out with. The roles seem to stay throughout life. Poor Anne.

Great comments from PerezTV on Anne for a change. Not the sensational and mostly wrong drivel we have been seeing, e.g., all the talk about what created the points on her dress - when it was the dress itself. Seeing the dumb, absurd, jealous and/or hateful comments about Anne that followed your positive comments, I guess you did not talk to your audience this time. These commentors probably also criticized Anne's matchless peformance as Fantine. They are entitled to their views, but Anne has run the table on acting awards for her role in Les Miserables - judged by the people who actually count in judging great performances. Anne Hathaway is a cheery, bright antidote for their kind of poison. So is Jennifer Lawrence.

Great article. Isn't it funny how ignorant people are of the diversity of personality types in the world. If you look past Anne's surface, you see a compassionate soul who lives out her convictions as a vegan. And yet most idiots will take a liking to Jennifer Lawrence, a girl who proudly lives on junk food and can't miss an episode of her trashy reality tv shows. So if you personally knew these two women in real life, which one would be more attractive? Well, I guess that depends on what kind of person you are.
