Welly well well!
It seems the Suit & Tie donning Justin Timberlake has found inspiration in the epic sounds of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and Bob Dylan!
The Mirrors singer recently revealed that his upcoming album The 20/20 Experience is heavily influenced by the aforementioned music gods, and defends some of his more lengthy new tunes, claiming that if Led Zeppelin can have ten minute songs, so can he.
"When we were making the record I said, 'If Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin can do 10-minute songs and Queen can do 10-minute songs then why can't we?' We'll figure out the radio edits later.”
He also explained how Bob Dylan played into the album's recording process, sharing:
”Music is for dreamers. You should be able to create another world that you can live in. I'm not gonna speak for Bob Dylan - he's one of my idols - but from my perspective, as a fan, it seems to me that he started creating music that made him feel like another person and that's what it should do. [The studio] really is one place that you can still go to that you can be completely free. You can lock yourself in a room and make a whole other world.”
Oh how we want to be paaaaaart of youuurrrrr wooorrrrlllllldddd Justin!
And apparently the spirits of rock gods.
VERY intrigued to hear the whole of The 20/20 Experience, especially to find out just HOW MUCH JT's icons influenced his music!
