Thoughtless, unnecessary violence has once again taken a life.
A 27-year-old man passed away last night in Philadelphia after being the victim of a drive-by shooting, with another left another injured, as they stood in a crowd that had gathered around French Montana's tour bus.
According to reports from authorities, the rapper and his entourage pulled into a local hotel following his performance that evening, and as fans gathered outside of his ride to catch a glimpse of the celebrity, a passing car opened fire on the group, leaving one victim dead after being shot in the abdomen and the other injured from a bullet wound in the shoulder.
Although Montana and his entourage were part of the 25 people officers have questioned in connection to the incident, authorities do not believe they were specifically targeted, and neither victims had any direct connection to him. Three individuals from the scene, however, have been taken into custody as they were discovered to be carrying firearms.
Just unreal to think that something so harmless as waiting outside a bus to see a musician could turn out like this.
We sincerely hope that whomever is responsible for this horrific act is found by police, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Our thoughts and prayers, meanwhile, go to the friends, family, and loved ones of the victim, as they struggle to come to terms with their profound loss.
