I believe it's a phase, especially with newborns, apparently it's some sort of a reflex as soon as their wee-wee is set free from confinements of a diaper. My daughter is my eldest, so I had quite interesting moments with my boy in that department. It did eventually go away. As strange as it sounds, I quite enjoyed it, in fact, it was the best "pee in my face" ever, not that I had any previous experience in that department. But then again anything that your kids do is absolutely the best, even if it's just spraying your face. Enjoy your son!!! As any parent will tell you, they grow up so fast, but also, every stage is magical. Have been your loyal reader for ages, so truly happy for you, I'm sure you're a great dad already.

I think it happens for awhile. You can try the Pee Pee TeePee. My friends swear by it!

Totally normal. Baby girls do it too! As soon as you open the diaper, lay a baby wipe over his winky. That'll keep him from peeing all over you.

You need to get a peepee teepee to pop over it so you don't get whizzed on!

Totally normal, I have three boys and they all did it as newborns. This doesn't last long and in time, your reflexes will become quicker to catch it! Baby wipe over the wee wee works just as good as a tee pee, costs less and more convenient for clean up!

keep some baby washcloths right on your change table, and as soon as you take the diaper off - put one over his "area" - it worked for me!!! p.s. boys are gross - but totally worth it!!!!!!!!

  17. 17

totally normal reflex! welcome to parenthood!! it sure isnt glamorous, it's the hardest job in the world, but totally worth it! congratulations on becoming a parent!

    I have a few tricks….

One, put clean diaper right under his butt (before you take the old diaper off)…. that way when you pull the old one off the new one is already there and is quickly put on.

Two, If you want you can buy what's called a TeePee PeePee…. I had a friend recommend it. I never used it…. or you can use a small dry wash cloth to put on top.

It's very normal and happens because of the cool air hitting him. It will go away… and it even happens with girls. It's a reflex.

Good luck…. stay sane and nap when he does!

Re: Alexa – If you do that though, you'll transfer germs over to the new diaper. You have to remove the old diaper and give the baby a good clean before putting on the new one.

so when are you going to start posting innapropriate pictures of this poor child and drawing hearts on his crotch. I feel as sorry for this child as i do for the new trashian kid. that one gets to learn from his friends in school that mommy's fame is from taking it in her ass and getting pissed on. and yours gets told his daddy is a hypersexual queen stalker who posts daily about shitting in beibers mouth and getting erections over straight guys. Boy it's sure going to be interesting when he's a teen and you go to correct him about some of his tasteless actions,,and he starts throwing url's at you showing yopur public displays of disgusting actions. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.

totally normal! Use a baby washcloth to cover him till you get the new diaper ready and it won't spray everywhere.

Mazel Tov on your new son. Try placing front of diaper over his front while changing him. if you get hit - Bravo! you're a Daddy now!!!!!!!

It's a phase. I have a 16 month old. After a few months they can control it while you change them. But as newborns, the cold air makes them pee. Fyi, the swing will be your best friend.

Re: raypearson – You are such a sad person.

  25. 25

Put a washcloth over his "privates" when changing him. It should help alleviate the accidents. Good luck! I have two boys myself.
