Mila Kunis Reveals Oz The Great And Powerful Sequel Is Already In The Works!

Holy flying monkeys! The first one hasn’t even been released!

Disney must have a lot of faith in Oz the Great and Powerful because it sounds like they are already planning a sequel.

Considering the star power of Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, James Franco and Rachel Weisz we are not surprised one bit.

And since we’re already watching and re-watching the trailer for the first one, we are more than hoping for a sequel!

Just try to imagine how bouncing-around-excited we are to hear Mila spill the oh-so fabulous beans as she revealed:

“We're all signed on for sequels.”

And her fellow wicked woman, Rachel, is ready to be getting witchy again right there beside her. She commented about a possible sequel:

“I hope so. If there is one, I'd love to be in it.”

This is starting to sound really, really good and really, really possible!

Especially since Michelle is also gung-ho to head back to Oz for a sequel as she admitted:

“Wherever director Sam [Raimi] goes, I'll go. I'd do anything Sam asks me to do. I'd get stuck in quicksand with him.”

So now it’s up to Sam, right?

Well, this might be a leeeettle bit of a problem as he dropped some totes devastating news:

“I'm not signed up for a sequel and I have no plans right now to make a sequel. I don't know where Disney is with that. They are probably waiting to see what the critical response is and what the audience response is and how well it does at the box office.”

And here we were so close!

Well, while we’d hate for the films to go on without him, we’d also hate to not get a sequel.

But there’s always time for Disney to sign him up!

First, let’s actually SEE the movie. LOLz!

“Oz the Great and Powerful” is all smoke and no mirrors, no fantasy, just effects without affect. To be honest, more like Oz the Amiable and Un-threatening. The best, funniest Oz thing I've read lately is DA YELLER BRICK ROAD, a revisionist telling of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Uncle Remus. The conceit is it was originally by Remus (who didn't exist) and then "borrowed and cleaned-up" by Baum. Hilarious and charming. All that "Oz the Great and Powerful" is not.

Can someone explain to me how there is a prequal to a movie about a fictional place? At the end of the Wizard of Oz Doroty wakes up from a dream and finds Oz is not real. What is this movie based off of?

All actors sign on for sequels in every movie now… She hasn't revealed anything. And it won't get a sequel because it's not going to make a profit on its 200m budget.

As much I disliked this film, I think a different director would make a sequel really fun, I'd also really like to see the Good Witch of the North involved! She wasn't in the original film and I'd love to see how she would fit in, as she is in the book and is the one who greets Dorothy in Oz rather than Glinda.
