A Russian ballet dancer named Pavel Dmitrichenko overcome with anger and jealous allegedly masterminded an atrocious attack against one of his rivals, paying two thugs to splash his face with sulfuric acid!
Unfortunately, this sad tale wasn't torn from the pages of a hot new production — it really happened!
The victim, Bolshoi Artistic Director Sergei Filin, suffered third-degree burns and may lose his vision!
Pavel, who apparently already admitted guilt to Russian police, grew famous in Russia, ironically, after playing iconic villains like Ivan the Terrible in his ballets!
How insanely tragic!
