Ashley Judd For Senate! No Foolin'!

No, Ashley Judd is not set to star in another political thriller; she's looking towards the real deal!

Gossip about the A-lister and social activist's plans to run for U.S. senate has been spreading faster than peanut butter and jelly, but it is now being predicted that she will in fact be announcing her Democratic nomination this May!

Even though the Missing star has yet to officially confirm the announcement, a source from MSNBC anticipates that Ashley will go up against Republican minority Mitch McConnell for the powerful position.

In a statement over the weekend, the actress said:

“I am not sure who is saying this stuff, but it is not I! I’d prefer as a fan of your journalism that you stay accurate and credible. We told everyone who called us yesterday these stories are fabrications.”

However, evidence like her talks with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, her involvement with the Democratic delegation, and her protests against coal mountain-top removal point to Ashley gearing up for a heated race in 2014.

A political commentator commented:

“If she gets into this primary, she is going clear the field. I don’t know another Democrat in all of Kentucky who would step up to an Ashley Judd and be able to have that kind of fundraising prowess."

We'd vote for Ashley! We're no experts, but she definitely sounds more qualified than Arnold Schwarzenegger was when he ran for governor.

While a position in senate is VERY different from being a governor, we're just crossing our fingers that this Hollywood heavyweight has a more successful run than the Governator did! LOLz.

Ms. Judd is not well liked in eastern Kentucky. The coal industry is very vital for our region. Ms. Judd might be against mountain top removal, however due to politics and other reasons, this reflects down to all mining sources be it underground or surface. I would hope someday we could get more productive candidates that care for our community. Coal may be bad for the environment however, we need these jobs to provide for our families. They have many clean coal practices that have helped lessen the pollution. The government should not try to take away these sources till there is reliable jobs to take there place. So I will not be voting for Ms. Judd. I think she needs to stick to movies and such!

Ashley Judd isn't going to take coal jobs from KY. The utility industries are. In 2011, LG&E Energy and Kentucky Utilities Companies filed plans to close up to 5 coal plants in favor of cheaper natural gas. I agree that Kentucky desperately needs jobs. McConnell hasn't created more jobs in KY. Kentuckians deserve safer, healthier and better paying jobs and a politician who will deliver.

Mountaintop coal mining is horrendous on the environment. You might have a job for a while but the land you live on is toxic. The ground water that makes its way to your faucet and therefore food is poisonous and laden with heavy metals. Water districts all over Eastern Kentucky frequently go over the safe limit of some of these toxins. I believe I get a letter from my water company at least every year. It's sick.

And Kentucky knows this. Hell, even the utility companies know this. Everything is switching to natural gas. It's cleaner and cheaper and more efficient. Why not? Saving money is never bad. Saving the world isn't either. If you lose your job, retrain. I did it at 43, anyone can.

I think she's the only one who can compare to the Washington Republican scam money that McIdiot will surely have access to. And it's not like he's been doing anything good for us anyway. Our governor has but McConnell hasn't. It's time for a change.

Democrat and a UK fan. Win in my book!

Ashley really believes the people in Kentucky are dumb enough to vote for a woman that doesn't live there, has poor taste and is a failed actress best known for taking her clothes off to be Marilyn Monroe. What a pain. What qualifications does she have to be Senator? Al Franken didn't either, but at least he knew about political issues because he discussed them in his radio program. Get her McConnell!

    This is rather funny
Reminds me of when Jessica Lang spoke before Congress on the plight of the farmers,
Jessica's credentials were, well she once played a farmers wife in a movie
Looking at Ashley Judd I see a woman with a screwed up her marriage, and a women who screwed up her once pretty face
I would suggest she should take singing lessons and go and tour with her mom

she lives in TN and winters in Scotland. it will be fun if she runs all the JUDD drama all over the national enquier daily. From what I hear the Judds fight and have drama daily.

Re: popnpolitics – It's not cheap gas killing coal jobs, it is the EPA. Power plants are converting because our lame ass shitty government in charge is allowing the envirowacks to pressure the power companies to face extreme costs to comply with burning coal. Lisa Jackson an Al Gore desciple did more damage to coal than you can imagine. So if bat-crazy Ashley Judd wants to throw her hat in the ring for Senate, go for it. It is amazing how Hollywood freak shows think because they pretend for a living, are some sort of political gurus. If she sucks as bad at politics as she does acting, God help KY.
