This glass slipper was obviously a pinch too tight for Emma Watson's liking!

We were as excited as dress-making mice to hear that the Bling Ring star was considering an offer to play the title role in Kenneth Branagh's live-action Disney remake of Cinderella…

But our Emmarella dreamz are now DEAD, as it's officially been confirmed that Emma will NOT portray the enchanted step-child slave opposite Cate Blanchett's Evil Stepmother.

Variety reporter Marc Graser tweeted the sad news, posting:

Emma Watson has decided NOT to star in Disney's CINDERELLA.

Siiighhhhhh.

No word yet as to WHO might slip themselves into the role, although Imogen Poots (28 Days Later) and Gabriella Wilde (Three Musketeers) are reportedly both viable options…

But what about U?! Who do U think would perfectly fit the part of Cinderella?!

Stupid move on her behalf. I can already tell she will regret that down the road, she's a great actress but she's turning into an arthouse geek, which is fine, but like Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley before her, she needs the big blockbuster series here and there.

I think the actress who plays Rebecca in The Vampire Diaries (Claire Holt) would be the perfect Cinderella. She is the first and only one who popped into my head.
