What a heartwarming, surprising, random moment in life!
During a recent Q&A session at Vanderbilt University, iconic bluesy crooner Billy Joel was asked by student — and lifelong fan — Michael Pollack if he would sing NY State of Mind while Pollack accompanied him on the piano…
And to EVERYONE's surprise, Billy said YES!
Watch the resulting AWESOMENESS that occurred (above)!
Pollack later said of the experience:
"[F]rom there, it was just … foggy. It's hard to remember. I just started playing. I had practiced it a little bit thinking maybe I'd get the chance to go up … I kind of lost myself playing. Then afterward he said to me … he said that I was great, where are you from … and I said, 'I'm a Long Islander just like you.' He was like, 'Cool.' Then I walked off, and that was it … It was probably the greatest moment of my life, up to date."
How overwhelmingly surreal it must have been!
AH this makes us all teary-eyed, but in the BEST way possible!
Humans can be such wonderful creatures…
What a perfect example of creativity, initiative, talent, and human kindess combining to make something utterly beautiful!
