Matt Lauer Fired From Today, Hired For Jeopardy?!

That's right!!!

The long-running game show might be saying farewell to its three-decade host Alex Trebek and HELLO to Matt Lauer!

Following his heart attack last summer, rumors have been swirling that Alex will be retiring from Jeopardy when his contract runs out in 2015 and it just so happens that Matt is a free agent after getting the boot from Today!!!

While final decisions won't be made for at least another year, Matt is supposedly at the top of the hosting list and he seems to be onboard with the idea too.

Matt wouldn't have the stress of Today's overwhelming schedule, so maybe he will be a bit nicer to those around him! HA!

We're not entirely sure Matt has as much universal appeal as Alex, but how much can he f*$@ up saying, "This is Jeopardy"??!

Alex exudes intelligence, because he actually is. He looks like the kind of man who would relax at home at his desk in a darkened mahogany lined library with leather chairs, crackling fireplace while smoking a pipe; and he has good hair, the kind of gray earned with wisdom. That's why he's believable as host on Jeopardy. While all that is tongue in cheek, what does Lauer bring that remotely resembles any of the above?

Re: Spike – Lol. It bugs me that they pass off all the plum jobs to each other instead of having a merit based audition process where the best man for the job has a chance. I specifically notice that voice overs for kid's films are all going to already wealthy celebs now (because they're all having kiddies to impress) instead of professional voice artists who could probably really use the work.

NO please NO, I won't watch Jeopardy again if Lauer is the Host. Jeopardy is my fave. show. Lauer, why don't you just go away? Too bad I won't watch Jeopardy again because of Lauer.
