A source VERY close to the situation has told PerezHilton.com EXCLUSIVELY that the funk-tastic band has secretly been auditioning aspiring female leads for the group.
Since The Duchess has made it common knowledge that she plans to take the next few years to herself — for parenting and another solo album — the band agreed it was time to move on.
BUT!
It should definitely be noted that this is a temporary arrangement, as Fergie will be welcomed back with open arms whenever she chooses to return.
For the time being, however, the boys just simply cannot wait to make new music. They've gotta let their muses guide them, and they need/want a lucky new lady to fuse talents with.

this is NOT true. I talked to Taboo last week and he said the Peas are focusing on solo endeavors right now. They plan to reunite again in a year or two once Fergie is ready to come back to the stage. Will is focusing on London market, Taboo is focusing on his own tour and solo career.
