Jay Leno SLAMS NBC Execs In Opening Monologue!

jay leno smashes nbc execs

If Jay Leno is going down, he's going down swinging!

With rumors swirling that NBC is looking to replace him, you would think the Late Night host would learn to play nice with the network. But apparently that just isn't his style!

In one of his latest monologues, Leno throws some serious shade at NBC execs, saying:

"Well you know the whole legend of St. Patrick, right? St. Patrick drove all of the snakes out of Ireland, and then they came into the United States and became NBC executives! It's a fascinating story!"

We're guessing the big wigs at NBC weren't too thrilled with the punch line, especially considering that entertainment chief Robert Greenblatt was already upset about jokes he recently made about the network falling to 5th in the ratings. It sounds to us like he's walking on some VERY thin ice!

This hardly seems like a good idea since there have recently been reports that the network is looking to get rid of the veteran host and replace him with Jimmy Fallon. But the last time Leno was supposed to be replaced it didn't go according to plan. Just ask Conan O'Brien!

Check out his monologue … AFTER THE JUMP!!!

NBC should never have got rid of Conan O'Brien. Bringing back Jay was a huge mistake.

    Re: Demode

A huge mistake? According to whom? I'm not a Leno fanboy, but the Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno is one of the only three shows leading in the ratings on NBC (the other two being the evening newscast and SNL). For a major network that's now behind Univision, I would think that the execs at NBC should be happy and count their blessings that at least something is still "ahead", however little it may be.

re: xoxo - The ratings for Jay Leno went down after HE STOLE THE SHOW back from Conan. Jay's ratings were still good, but never as high as they were before he moved to 10pm (and failed in that timeslot). Letterman started doing better in the ratings than Jay for the firts time in years. I agree with Demode that they made a huge mistake, becaus ethey wer enot looking at the big picture. Conan could have hosted Tonight for 15 to 20 years. He had youth on his side. Jay was old, and should have retired gracefully. Jay Leno's legacy is pretty much dirt for what he did. Also… Jay screwed Conan, Letterman… and Johnny Carson. He is a total ass.

Leno himself said a while back why he's in danger of being canned: NBC only fires you if you're number one!

I like Jay but seldom get to see him…too late for this working girl…LOL Conan's humour is so juvenile it's stupid…don't get him at all. They should just leave Jay where he is…at least he has a brain.

Re: barb – I hear you, seldom get to watch him, watched the clip and forgot how funny he is, just LOL a lot. For those of you who live or plan on visiting Southern California, Jay often performs on Sundays at the Comedy and Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, but call ahead of time to make sure he will be performing that night. He likes to try out new material there.
