Russell Brand best not be talking smack about our girl Katy Perry!
When a couple of his friends on XFM radio were teasing him about his outrageous elephant-riding wedding and shamefully short marriage, the acerbic comic was quick to defend the relationship. Kind of. He said:
"Let me tell you a thing about marriage. Marriage is a bond that can last up to 14 months…
This is a sacred, 14-month arrangement. Begins on an elephant. Ends in a newspaper."

Though to be fair, he was more poking fun at his own inability to stay committed- something his buddies backed up, revealing they had a pool going on how long he could stay hitched!
Maybe he's just laughing at himself to keep from feeling terrible about his loss- we know that's how we'd feel!
