American Idol Gets Down To 8 While Jessica Sanchez Proves It's Okay To Lose!

Another contestant has been sent packing!

American Idol is trimming the fat and sending hopeful singers on their way home.

After performances of The Beatles greatest hits, some contestants needed major Help! from voters, but it didn’t happen for all.

The bottom three with the least votes from fans were Amber Holcomb, Devin Velez and Paul Jolley after shaky performances, but only one would see their run end last night.

So who won’t be fighting for the American Idol crown?

Paul Jolley!

After a rough performance and a lashing from Nicki Minaj, Paul couldn’t cut it.

But, he should know it isn’t about winning Idol that matters!

Plenty of losers have gone on to have major careers including Jessica Sanchez who came in second place last season.

The little starlet with the big voice came back to perform last night with the help of Ne-Yo!

And she rocked the stage like a seasoned pro!

With a hot song and plenty of attitude, we know this won’t be the last we see of this Idol.

Amber had a "shakey performance"? You are as crazy as the voters who put her in the bottom three. Nikki is right. This show is obviously not about who is the best singer.

Miley Cyrus Insists Alcohol Is 'Way More Dangerous' Than Weed! Shares Her New Priorities As An Adult & Artist!

Perhaps Amanda Bynes would have been better off giving Miley Cyrus her bong!

The We Can’t Stop singer interviewed with Rolling Stone magazine for their July 4th issue, and revealed her fairly liberal thoughts on drugs and alcohol.

Given her stoner reputation, we’re not totally surprised. Though, when asked to clarify her penchant for weed, she said:

"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes... I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves."

That sounds fairly straightforward to us. Mileybird then went ahead to state that she thinks there are things much, much worse than a little bit of the green stuff:

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana -- people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care... I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

She added:

"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Well, Miley, marijuana isn’t exactly legal in California unless you have a prescription, so we’re not entirely sure what you mean. But, okay...

As for her transition from Disney teen idol to mature pop star, she said:
